Engagement photos

We are having ours done Saturday. One of the poses is with football jerseys(were a sporty couple) with our date on the back. As I am getting them ready our convo goes like this:

DF: Wouldn't it be cool since you are having 6 and I am having 14 on my back that we have DD sitting next to us with a jersey that has 14 on the back. (so it reads 6-14-14 which is our date.)

Me: Yeah, but I wasn't planning on having DD in any of the pictures.

DF: Why?

Me: Because this is supposed to be about us as a couple. 

DF then gives me a sad/disappointed face and walks away.

So WDA12T? Should I have DD in some of our engagement pictures or  keep it strictly me and DF? Honestly I never thought to included DD before, but now I kinda feel bad.

    I definitely think you should include DD in at least a couple photos! Yes, it is about you two as a couple, but your LO is a huge part of your lives and I think it would make sense to have that reflected in your engagement session.

    I just had some friends get married and the bride had a son who was 5 y.o. when they got engaged. They did a similar shot as to what you are talking about- so the bride wore 6, groom wore 8 and their DS wore 13. It was super cute and that was on their save the dates they sent out!

    I would include her.  You guys are a family. Your wedding is an important day for all 3 of you. She doesn't need to be in all of them, maybe just a couple.

    Also, you must share when you get them done!

    He was probably just bummed you shot down his idea. I agree with you, keep them just the two of you.

    I think you should do a few with DD!  Most should be the two of you, but I would include the babe too :)

    I would do some with and some without DD. Then when you get the proofs, see which you like the best.  Perhaps you could use one of each on the save the dates.  It is better to take the pictures and not use them then not take the pictures and regret that choice down the line.
