high chair question

DD isn't quite on solids yet but I'm looking to buy a high chair soon and looking for some help in picking one out. I really do not want to spend more than $60 on a high chair because I feel like I spend a small fortune on baby gear and it's going to get super messy so I don't want to put a ton of money into it.

I would also like something easy to wipe down as I am highly considering BLW. Also, we cloth diaper and I do enough laundry and don't really want something I have to throw in the washer often.

I am considering this one from Ikea, which is just plastic but I believe has a pad you can buy for it:

https://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S39004733/

I like that it's affordable and has a tray. Does anyone have this? Do you like it?

I'm also considering the Fisher Price Space Saver because I've heard great reviews about it, but we those chairs with faux leather padding on the back and seat and I don't know if that would work for attaching it. Any experience on this?

Finally, I like this Graco Simple Switch:

It's convertiable and fairly reasonably priced. Anyone have this one? Easy to clean? It has good reviews but I don't know anyone who has it personally.

Sorry for the long post! Just hoping to purchase soon.

ETA: Apparently my Mac won't make my links clicky :(

Re: high chair question

  • my mom has the Ikea one for Benny with the pad and it is working really well so far. the daycare i used to work at, and that Benny will go to in the fall, has them too and they work great for the little babies just starting food to the bigger toddlers. I'm pretty sure the daycare has had the same ones for a couple years now and they are in great condition. they are super easy to clean and take down to transport if you needed to take it somewhere too.

  • We have a Space Saver and if I had to do it again, I'd get something that folds up easily when not in use.  Although I think I'll like using it as a booster as DD gets older.

  • We have healthy care boosters. They fold up to travel, can be moved around the house easily, and they're easy to clean.

  • We have this one and we do blw. It's washable but it also is very wipeable. I'm thinking though that the cover could come off and it could just be a plastic seat. So far I really like it.

  • We have the ikea one with no pad. Love it. With my first, we had a high chair with padding. I threw the padding out rather early on because I was sick of cleaning it.

  • we have a space saver and i was concerned because our dining room chairs have wheels and we have wood flooring...but she's not rolling around too much, and she thinks its fun when we move her around....also, our chairs are really padded....(omg they're so ugly...i hate them but the table/chair set was his aunts and free soo....) but there has been no issue with it on there...it can recline all the way and still fit on the chair.....we just have a tiny house and no room for an actual high chair...

  • I have the Evenflo compact fold.  It's $50 and folds flatter than others.  It's nothing fancy, but that's fine.  I don't need extra padding to clean every day.

  • We have a space saver and really like it.  It wipes down easily and I toss the pad into the wash periodically because food does get trapped down between the seat and the cover, but it's really NBD.  I'm no help with the chair issue though as we have plain wooden chairs.  I would *guess* it will attach just fine though.  If your seat is like microsuede (I think that's what it's called?  Basically just a smooth surface) you might want to put down a towel first just for easier clean up.

Also, as far as price, check out Craigslist.  I pick up suuuuper gently used baby items on there all the time.  We got our highchair from CL and IIRC we paid $20 for it.  It looked brand new.
