Packing for Vacations

Hi Ladies!  Over the next few months we will be going on a couple of vacations.  The thought of packing for DD is stressing me out.  I feel like I am going to end up packing the whole house.  Does anyone have any tips or tricks that they've learned along the way.  TIA

Re: Packing for Vacations

  • Rent baby gear online and have it delivered to your destination. I've had high chairs and PnP and boxes of toys, etc. waiting for me it when I picked up my car rental at the airport, or at the hotel, etc.  I've also ordered formula and diapers online and have it delivered to my destination so they are waiting for me (the exact kind I use since I'm picky) and I don't have to buy expensive/off brand stuff at stores i'm unfamiliar with, when all I want to do is rest/play, etc.

Bring more diapers/changes of clothes (for you AND baby) in your  carry on / available in your car than you think you'll need. Travel usually equals blow outs/spit up/throw up/ completely unexpected disasters/hiccups. Same with formula or BM - bring more than you think you need.

  • I keep a list on my computer. I found that if we're visiting family, they do a lot of the entertaining, so lots of toys are not necessary. Also, if you're staying with family, you can use their washer and dryer, so you don't have to pack so much clothing. You can always buy diapers and wipes when you arrive. We make sure to bring the sound machine for sleeping. I also include a thermometer and baby tylenol in my toiletries bag. DD got sick on a trip with a high fever and I was so thankful that I brought it.
