Will be going in for my first c section in around 78 weeks, been thinking about my hosptial bag and what I'll need for me and for the baby. Can anyone help me with a list? Thanks in advance!
All of the above, and I really encourage the granny panties! Comfy, wont rub your incision, and you REALLY wont care when they get bloody.
I'm quite overweight, and have a beautiful belly roll (haha), and I found it super helpful with the granny panties to put one of the hospital maxi pads across my incision to keep it from rubbing anything. Good luck!
Everyone needs different things but this is what I found. Lots of granny panties. The ones they give you suck, a sports bra or nursing bra, lots of socks. I brought slippers and a pair of flip flops, I was super happy to have them. A couple pairs of sweat pants or capris, that are high waisted you don't want anything on your incision, especially seams. A few nice shirts to wear after you get your catheder out and iv's I enjoyed putting normal clothes on especially for visitors. What I didn't pack but wished I did was my own pillow from home and a small mirror so I could of did my hair before I could get up to go to the bathroom where there was a mirror.
For baby I packed diapers, wipes, diaper cream cause our hospital doesn't supply that for you. A couple going home outfits of a different size cause I didn't know how big she would be, socks and a hat but we live in a cooler climate you might not need that, also a couple recieving blankets for going home and a thick blanket for over top especially if it is windy or rainy.
Odds and ends I was glad to have, my phone and a charger, granola bars and fruit snacks, bottled water, muffins, and I had some other snacks I can't remember what they were though. Of course my camera too.

They were a life saver for me with DS since your nips will def. be sore. Also bring lanolin cream - the hospital *might* give you an itty-bitty tube otherwise.
Also, bring stuff for Dh - something to read, laptop, etc. & food/snacks. Our hospital only give the spouse 1 meal on the first day and I have loads & loads of freezer meals prepared - they have a fridge & microwave so he brought some food.
Someone else on another post suggested bringing a cooler with drinks/food for Dh - I think that's a great idea too. We'll prob leave it in the car & then bring it to the room once we're settled in.
I will be bringing my breast pump this time around. One of my friends started working those boobies with her first at the hospital and she ended up being able to fully sustain her baby with her BM (I always had to supplement) I figure it can't hurt.
Other must haves I bring: Dove body wash & lotion, Hair ties, brush and spray, chapstick, deodorant, Lanisoh nursing cream
Camera, extra memory card, phones & chargers, laptop & cash for the vending machines, and make the hubby a care basket to keep him content haha I did jerky, peanuts, candy bars, magazines ect
For the Baby I brought:
The Boppy pillow, a swaddle sack, 2 receiving blankets & 2 cozy blankets, the baby book for footprints, 3 onesies, socks, mittens and hats 2 footie pj's and one coming home outfit, 2 pacifier and 2 bottles (if not nursing, so the baby learns on that specific bottle) and a grooming kit
Re: Hospital bag
A lot of it is personal preference.
3 days worth of clothes if you don't want to wear the gowns the whole time (nursing bra/tanks, yoga pants, dresses, etc.)
Underwear if you don't want to wear the mesh ones they provide
Camera, Phone, and Chargers
Pillows and Boppy
Take Home Outfit
Chaptick
Toiletries if you don't want to use what the hospital provides
Socks/Slippers and shower shoes/flip flops if you think you may want them
Robe if you are planning on walking the halls in your hospital gown
There are more things you could take but they arent necessary. Hope that helps

If you're planning to breastfeed I would HIGHLY recommend getting these Lansinoh coolies pads: https://www.lansinoh.com/products/soothies-by-lansinoh-gel-pads

I'm going for my 3rd C-Section in December '13 and this is what I recommend.
-3 pairs wide band yoga pants
-5-7 pairs Hanes tall briefs underwear aka Granny pannies! In white so you can bleach them all you need & eventually throw away
-3 nursing tank tops
-1 loose hoodie/ sweatshirt
-3 pairs of socks, 1 pair shower flip flops, 1 pair cozy slippers
-1 bathrobe
Other must haves I bring: Dove body wash & lotion, Hair ties, brush and spray, chapstick, deodorant, Lanisoh nursing cream
