sneezing

My 9 WO is still sneezing quite often. Is this normal?

Re: sneezing

  • Mine is too, don't know if it's normal but it's still multiple times a day

  • Mine is 12 weeks and is still sneezing often. Sometimes it's for obvious reasons, like when I put powder on her. She has been congested lately so she might be fighting a little cold.

  • My 12 week old still sneezes a lot too, but I'm not worried about it.
  • My 8 week old does it as well. She spent the first week in the NICU and had started to do it while she was in there. This gave me the chance to talk to the nurses about it. It's completely normal for them to sneeze some. Their nasal passages are so tiny that the smallest amount of snot or anything will cause them to sneeze. I watch for any boogers or anything I can see in her nose and try to keep them clear using her nasal aspirator and saline drops if nessacary. However don't freak if there's a booger you can't get out I went through that too. Them sneezing will help to losen it over some time and if you try to aspirate the nose to much then it will dry out the passage which will in return cause it to produce more snot to keep them lubricated. Just keep in mind at this age they have check ups often with doctors and as long as the doctors aren't hearing any congestion in the lungs then they are just fine. So all and all the sneezes are 100% normal it's simply just a little snot tickling the inside of his or her nose.  But if they are sneezing very often and it concerns you just tell the doctor and they will listen to the breathing and let you know if its anything more.
  • Crazymary77 I have been told by my daughters doctors that you should no longer use baby powder that it can cause breathing problems so you might want to ask your doctor about the powder.
