For those of you on Lovenox, how many mg are you taking? And how many times per day? I noticed a lot of ladies post that they have large bruises and knots. I haven't experienced this, but I have only been on the shots for just over a week. I am also on 40mg 1 shot per day, so maybe this is a relatively low dose?
Thanks in advance for answering my newbie questions

That's what I was afraid someone was going to tell me, haha. Thanks for the responses ladies!
I'm on 120 mg once a day. I'm not sure why my dosage is so high, I really expected a lower one.
I only have bruises on my left side, and one very small lump. My right side is fine--just pinpoint bruises.
I've done 12 injections so far and it's been horrible. An ice cream after each shot really helps. My husband went to the store and stocked up on Skinny Cows and Weight Watchers ice cream bars, sandwiches and cones--all different varieties. It actually makes me look forward to my shot even though they hurt. ...I know, I'm a baby.
Someone told me that pushing the plunger too fast can cause the lumps. Going as slow as possible makes it hurt less so that's what I try to do.
Good Luck!

My dose is 40 mg once a day. I do get the occasional bruise if I accidentally inject into a vein. I have a nice size bruise on my left side, it's a little bigger than a golf ball.
I've been doing injections since 8 weeks. Some injections hurt more than others. It also depends on location and if the needle feels dull. I have better luck with the manufacturer Sandoz.
My Ovulation Chart
60mg Lovenox 2x daily. 40mg is the standard prophylactic dosage, some doctors are comfortable with just doing the standard dose, others will do a blood draw after you've been on it for a while to see what level of it is in your system, and will adjust dosage accordingly.
Bruising & knots tend to be one of those things that some people get tons of, others get almost none. Injecting into a vein will almost always cause a bruise, knots are more often from injecting too fast.
I had occasional knots/bruising on Lovenox, but I've been on Heparin since sunday and I'm getting knots like crazy. I'm injecting as slow as possible, but since there's no burn like there was with Lovenox I know I'm going a little faster than I used to, and I'm guessing this is where the knots are coming from.
