First of all, thank you so much for all the T&Ps, hugs, etc. You guys are the best.
I woke up from my surgery yesterday to find out that they did the hysteroscopy, looked around, but didn't actually do anything. The septum had a broader base than they were expecting, and the dr performing the surgery didn't feel comfortable removing it because she hadn't had enough experience with that. She also saw something up on the left side that could either be a polyp, something left over from my most recent pregnancy, or a little bump caused by the instruments they used to dilate my cervix.
She is referring me to the super expert in this field to re-do the hysteroscopy and hopefully remove whatever shouldn't be there. This expert is actually the dr who was recommended to my by my regular doctor, but when I called his office, the waiting times were really long so I decided to go ahead and get it done at my regular hospital. She said that after a few more post-loss periods, they will be able to say for sure what the thing in the left side is, and if it was caused by them during the dilation, it'll be gone when I re-do the surgery.
I am devastated. I have been so, so nervous for this and all that happened was I was under general anesthesia and they looked around. I have had to deal with all the side effects from the anesthesia, all for nothing. What's worse is I'm going to have to wait even longer. I called today and they said the earliest they can get me in for a consult is in August, and only after that will I be able to schedule the surgery.
I am so upset that I didn't go with this guy from the get-go. I feel like a total freak of nature for being so weird that they couldn't fix me at a large teaching hospital. I am so upset that we're going to have to wait until probably February to TTC again, because DH and I are going to be in different countries from November-January. I'm not old or anything (turning 29 in Sept), but every month that goes by, I'm another month older, another egg wasted (I know it's not that simple but that's what it feels like). I am just so, so upset. I know that this bad news is nothing compared to what some of you have had to deal with, but it's devastating for me right now. I am a total mess.
The good news is that DH did an SA on Tuesday, and I'm getting some bloodwork done next week (coagulation panel and checking my thyroid), so at least we can do that in the meantime.
Thanks again for all your support.

I'm so sorry Mrs. E!! HUGE (((HUGS)))!!!
I just think it seems like since you've had a doctor already look at you and had a consult at this practice that you'd be able to skip the other one... I also wish since you have a referral that you'd be able to get in sooner. It just doesn't seem fair.
Again, I'm sorry and here's some more (((hugs))) for you.

Thank you so much.
The office does have my referral, it's just that they have very limited opening hours in July and didn't take new patients in July. Or something. Once she started telling me it was going to be a while, I got upset and started crying and didn't really hear what she said. My DH is going to call next week and hopefully get some more information out of them.

Oh (((((E)))). I understand how frustrating being benched for that long can be. It doesn't matter what age you are, it still sucks. Looking on the bright side of things I am glad the doctor was able to pull back and say she wasn't qualified to deal with the situation and send you to a specialist. If she had gone ahead and been over her skill level and ability it's possible it could have ended badly for you.
I know it's frustrating to go under and into surgery for what feels like nothing but it's a means to an end. I would be upset too if I had to wait longer because I didn't see the specialist in the first place. You didn't know that you would need to though. Don't beat yourself up over that. I'm sending (((BIG HUGS))) your way. I'm rooting for you Mrs. E. I'm so sorry for the set-back.

I'm so sorry you're going through this. After your loss this is the last thing you need to deal with. You have every right to be upset. I'm glad they are referring you, but I'm upset for you that you have to wait so long and that this didn't happen to begin with. You should definitely make a complaint.
And I completely understand how you feel about every month being lost. I feel the same way. It's so stressful.
I hope all your results come back normal. Keep us updated!
