Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Recs for sturdy and under $200 crib for Nana's house

Had been planning to get IKEA crib but found some perhaps uncommon but disturbing mold issues on review of the cribs. So back to drawing board.  Need a convertible since DD is 21 months and will need toddler bed and would like to get most out of a crib that won't be used more than a few times a month.

Any ideas?

  • We have 2 Ikea cribs for the fellas and I love them. They were inexpensive, they are very sturdy and we have never had any issues. I put them both together by myself with a big belly in the way and we even took them apart and put them back together when we moved and we still have had no issues.

  • Thx.  I've seen lots of great reviews for the IKEA cribs but unfortunately I'm a bit unsettled by the fiberboard mattress slat issues I found.  While I'm sure 99% of cases are fine it just lingers in my head so I need to find something else.
  • Have you checked target? my MIL got a crib for DS there to keep at her house and it seems nice and sturdy

  • We have an IKEA Gulliver and it's been through 2 kids with no issues of any kind, including mold.

  • Graco cribs. The Lauren is on sale at target right now.
  • I have a Graco Lauren and really like it. Walmart has them for $159. If you want one you'll have to buy a rail for the toddler bed, but it converts from a crib to a toddler bed to a full size headboard, so I feel like it's well worth the money we spent!
