Back from Vacation/Bumpcation

Hey y'all! Long time no see!
I was on vacation last week, and I decided to take a bump-cation too. I didn't even lurk!
Vacation was good. We shared a beach house in AL with the ILs like we do every year. DS had a blast running around and playing with his cousins and grandparents. DH and I are kind of exhausted, to be honest, because going on vacation with a 2 yo is no joke, but it was still a nice change of scenery. We got some beach time in, did some shopping and sightseeing, ate way too much good Southern home cooking, did lots of reading, and took a ridiculous number of photos.
How's everyone doing? I'm going to try to get caught up on everyone's posts and get the next TTC check-in posted soon, but I just wanted to say hi first since I've been MIA!

Sounds like a great vacation - but I definitely understand being even more exhausted AFTER vacation now that kids are involved.
I love going on trips with our extended family though because the new people and sights definitely keep DS1 occupied and worn out!
Oh definitely! It was so nice for DS to have so many people to play with. We're already practically begging his grandpa to come back here for a visit, because he is so full of energy and great at wearing DS out.

Yes! Much better. We did a lot of the things we talked about after the disastrous trip in May. We talked about vacation every day for a couple weeks, we made him a photo album of things from home, and we packed a few more of his favorite toys. I also think it helped that he had a lot of people to play with and keep him busy, too.
He did ask to go home a few times throughout the trip and got just a bit tearful at bedtime on the first night but it was mostly smooth sailing.
Of course, now he keeps asking to go back to the beach. LOL
