High-Risk Pregnancy

Pregnant after 4 miscarriages and 1 ectopic

I'm new at this so here it goes. This is my 6th pregnancy with no live births yet. I have had 4 miscarriages, all before 8 weeks, and one abdominal ectopic two years ago that was terminated at 10 weeks. Today I am 11 weeks under the care of a high risk OB/GYN and a reproductive endocrinologist. I want to celebrate making it this far, but my circumstances and fear have robbed me of this pleasure. After working as a teacher in my first year, I decided to resign and look elsewhere for work for next year. My husband decided to follow suit as well since he work in the same district and we were both very unhappy. We thought it would be no big deal since we both hold several professional certifications as well as college degrees. We had been TTC basically continuously for 4 years to get pregnant with success only about once a year that basically continually ended in miscarriage so I wasn't worried about any surprises. Well two weeks after I resigned.........surprise your pregnant with no job, no insurance and no pay after August 30. I am still in shock that I got pregnant at such a difficult time, but can't stop crying with worry about my situation. We already planned to move to where ever my husband or I get a good job but only have about 30 days left on our lease and still have no job offers. Being pregnant does not exactly make you the most desirable new employee especially when she will be demanding health insurance immediately. I am worried the stress is going to cause me to miscarry which will only make matters worse. Can stress cause you to miscarry? Everything at the doctor has been fine, and I am on a myriad of medications to prevent miscarriage, but am still scared that my anxiety might be affecting the pregnancy. Anyone have any advice?

  • Congrats on this pg sorry for your losses. Stress can't cause you to miscarry but it can inflame your immune system which you do not want. Try and relax except for looking for a job there is nothing you can do to Change your circumstances and stressing about it will do you no good. I have had 6 losses and what I learned was that if you are going to miscarry its going to happen no matter what so there is no point panicking over every little thing. Gl
