My 7 month old sleeps from 7:30-6:30, and wakes for a night feeding around 2am or so.
People are telling me that she should be sleeping through the night, and that we should let her CIO. I'm not ready to do that just yet and thought the night feedings were fine.
Thoughts?
Re: 7 Month Old - Night Feedings - Normal?
My 8 month old wakes twice per night to eat. It's perfectly normal.
You know your baby best. If she's hungry, feed her.
As long as you don't mind waking up to feed your DD, then I don't see it as a problem. Also, does your DD go back down to sleep easily after MOTN feed? If she's getting enough sleep at night and not waking up too many times, you can keep feeding her 1x/n for as long as you'd like.
I did wean DS off his night feeding. He was becoming WIDE awake after nursing MOTN and some nights he'd stay up for an hour or more afterwards (he talks/sings in his crib). We felt that the MOTN feeding was detrimental to his overnight sleep, as well as to me. That was the impetus of weaning him, and he's been STTN since.
