I feel like a dope asking this at this stage of the game (I'm 19 weeks), but I haven't been taking any extra folic acid - I take my regular prenatals and generally look to eat foods that have folate or folic acid like, asparagus, OJ, oatmeal etc. but I havent added an extra supplement to my prenatals. Should I be worried? My OB didn't say anything to me so it makes me think I may be just fine, but I wanted to check just to be sure.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Extra folic acid with twins?
I took extra that I bought in the vitamin aisle. My dr said it was up to me.
What your body doesn't need gets flushed out, so one extra supplement won't hurt you, but ask your dr first.
3/22 ER: 25R, 20M, 15F. 9 genetically normal, and 3 survived to Day 5
3/27 ET: transferred 1 embryo, beta 9dp5dt=163, 12dp5dt=639
4/25 1st ultrasound at 7 weeks = identical twins with heartbeats?!!!
I agree. If you are concerned, definitely bring it up with your doctor. I was prescribed extra at my first visit with my OB, as well as iron.

After our OB visit yesterday (10w) the doc prescribed DW the Prenate Mini vitamin.
It's got 1 mg of folic acid in it. Plus a bunch of other stuff.
