Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Sleeping through the night or NOT!

My 6 month old has reverted back to waking up and insisting on eating 2 and even 3 times during the night. We are back to a newborn schedule... Help!!! I'm one exhausted Mama!

Re: Sleeping through the night or NOT!

  • My 8 month old just started doing this as well.  Until his first tooth popped through yesterday!  Last night he slept all night.  I am not much help, but I hope you get some sleep soon!

  • It could be a growth spurt or teething. Is your LO still going back down okay afterwards? My LO just turned 6 months, and last week she was waking every 3h or so. She was taking full feedings, so I let her nurse and put her back down. I did put more focus on daytime nursing and naps, making sure she wasn't distracted during feedings. I don't know if that had any effect though. She's back to waking once now. No teeth came through, but she did grow a fair bit this week.

  • We went through the same thing around 6 months. It is just a phase, growth spurt, or teething.

  • It is very normal around that age, due to growth spurts, teeting, developmental leaps...its something we all go through, and it does get better.

  • I'm afraid DS will revert back. He's STTN since about 6 weeks old. But teething seems to be kicking in full force right now.

    Henry Cavill...You're welcome!

  • I'm in the same sleepy boat with you. My DS (8.5 months) woke every 2 hours last night. More teeth are coming in, and he's learning more standing/sitting skills. I keep in mind that this is temporary -- it has to be! Smile
