I forgot to tell you guys last week. DS (22.5 months) is finally walking! He can get himself off the floor without help and keep his balance to walk from room to room. He has also started speech therapy and is already making progress. He's pretty awesome. :)

  • DD has started saying "hi" and waving when she sees H or I on the phone.

She's also started saying "bye" and waving when I leave in the mornings or when H goes to work.

The new high chair is working well and she's more willing to open her mouth to eat. Eating is still a challenge but at least she WANTS to do it now.

  • This is my first real brag. DS started saying girl last Friday! I'm sure that doesn't sound like much, but it's a big deal for him. A few months ago we were talking about who were boys and who were girls and he said "I can't say gull (girl) mom, I can only say gull." He seemed so sad and it broke my heart. But Friday he said girl and it was def GIRL and not GULL!! He is so proud of himself and he keeps looking for excuses to say it.

  • DD1 had her first camp of the summer last week, a drawing camp. We opted for an intern to accompany her just in case (the center where it was held offered this as an option, which was great to have), since she struggles with drawing and I wasn't sure how frustrated she'd get.

I think the helping hand was useful, and she came home with quite a collection of drawings with a level of detail that she doesn't normally get to. And she thoroughly charmed the intern (who said she was the most polite and patient kid in the class) and her teacher, who was a guy the size of a linebacker.

She went up to him one day at pick-up, tapped him on the side (which was as high as she could reach) and told him, "Mr. Darrin, I've been thinking that I would like to give you a hug." OMG, I just about died of the cuteness. He picked her up and gave her a huge bear-hug, asked her if that was good, and she said, "Yeah -- but next time maybe you could do it gentler." LOL!

We're going to Disney in two weeks, and she told me this week that she had a good dream where she and Elsa were at Disney and they got to meet all their favorite pirate characters. It's so sweet to see her so excited.

  • I don't have one this week, but I just wanted to say these are all great!!
  • One of my favorite posts! DD is making the sign for more and will push a very small button on her toy when told to push the button.
  • DS has transitioned easily with brushing his teeth in the mornings now. We have been doing the teeth brushing at night.

I started on Sunday by putting his teeth brushing picture in the morning routine picture schedule.

  • DS1 has transitioned amazingly well to the new intense speech therapy program. It is 4 mornings a week and he really likes the routine! It seems to be a great fit for him! Hopefully this will get him talking!

  • These are great!  I love reading everyone's brags!  DD has started letting me move her hands to do finger plays and pat-a-cake.  Before she would rip her arms away but just this week she will relax and even open her hands for the claps.  :)
  • Owen is almost graduated from water safety class! It is so amazing to watch him do the swim, roll to float, swim sequence. I am so proud of him.
  • Lo pointed to her stuffed lamb's eyeball today and said "eye!" She did it twice for me and once for my mom!!
