Blended Families

NonBF vent

Every once in a while my cousin that I rarely see rips into how much her Dad sucks and does not help her Mom etc. a week or so ago she complained how her view that used to be of a nice pool is not of grass. Um you are 37 years old. Move the F out of Mommy and Daddy's house! It is taking everything in me not to write this to her especially since I will rarely see my Dads side of the family since my Dad passed away. Seriously how do you complain about stuff when for the last 19 years since high school graduation you have dated home!

  • Oh my God! That would drive me insane. I would not have been able to resist a snarky remark of 'well you know you could get your own place and then you could have any backyard you want. Grown ups get to decide these things."

  • I would - and have - made pointed responses like that.

"If you really don't like it, why not head over to Lowes?"  Or "I know of a great apartment building over on XX Street that has an amazing pool" then add a link to the apartment complex's application.

  • It would be impossible for me not to say one of two things

"That is why I own my own home"

    or

"There are definite downsides to living with your parents as an adult"

Bahahahaha love it.  Although it would probably inspire more complaining about "how hard it is" to find a job or some other lame-o excuse for not growing up.
