You're not alone. Many of us feel exactly the same way about secondary IF. I personally think it's exceptionally frustrating when you had no issues the first time around and have secondary unexplained IF. Hang in there! It's not an easy journey but this board is extremely supportive.
DD conceived naturally in 2009. TTC #2 since August 2010. Praying for guidance as we decide what's next.
I know exactly how you feel. I'm in the same position, both daughters conceived second month of trying, and now I am creeping closer and closer to the 2 year mark of unexplained 2IF. I also am tired of the "relax, and it will happen" comments. Fairly certain my first year of denial I was relaxed! I do know I am incredibly lucky to have children, but I also know the devastation and frustration month after month is still felt as strong as anyone trying to conceive their first, second, third, fourth, etc. I wish none of us had to deal with this, and hope your stay is short! There is tons of support to be found here.
Two DDs 10/08 and 08/10, no primary IF
TTC #3 since 10/2011 - dx unexplained/weak ovulation
3 BFN clomid + TI cycles, 5 BFN clomid/gonal f IUIs, 1 mmc IUI
2/19/2014 IVF #1 Unexpected low E2 (oversuppressed) -> increased to max doses = 3 or 4 follicles, converting to IUI
BFFP Saw 1 beautiful heartbeat at 6w6d, follow up u/s at 9w showed mmc. Eff this.
NTNP 5/2014-9/2014, OPKs and TI 10/2014 - 1/2015.
RPL testing all normal, AFC, AMH, and FSH all normal.
I know exactly how you feel. We conceived our daughter on our 10th cycle trying. It felt like forever at the time, but now I'm pretty sure I'd give my right arm to be able to conceive that fast again. We're now at the 2 year mark of TTC #2. When we first went to the RE we had zero indicators of what could be wrong. My hormone levels were good, my charts looked perfect, I was definitely ovulating, we were definitely having well timed intercourse. My hsg test was perfectly clear and DH's sperm analysis was fine.
It turns out after the one last test that we did, my RE discovered that I have diminished ovarian reserve. It doesn't mean I can't get pregnant, it just means time isn't on my side and that we'll probably need help. We now have 3 failed IUI's under our belt, a canceled IVF cycle, and we just had our egg retrieval for our current IVF cycle yesterday. I just keep praying that each cycle will be the one that brings us our son or daughter. It's so hard though.
1 month of Letrozole, 3 IUI's with Letrozole, All BFN. 1 canceled IVF cycle, BFN.
May 2013 IVF w/ICSI #1.5: Start BCP 5/8 2 pills a day. Suppression Ultrasound 5/29. Begin Dexamethasone & Lupron Microdose 5/31. Started Gonal F and Menopur 6/2.
ER 6/12 13R,9M,8F.
5DT CANCELLED due to moderate OHSS
5DT UNcancelled due to embryos not being capable of cryopreservation
Thank you to everyone. I'm sorry everyone here is struggling but it's nice to not feel so alone. I have wonderfully supportive IRL friends but they don't fully understand and I'm going to scream if one more person tells me to just enjoy my son.
Yes 3 cycles for DS and now we are 11cycles in I turned 35 in February. It stinks but I found I've had a bacterial infection since starting TTC and DH had .5 morphology which the 2 combined could be affecting our IF. We are waiting for the infection to clear up and treated DH of course I got a yeast infection due to the antibiotics. So waiting for that to clear. DH is taking a bunch of vitamins too. We are going to try a couple more cycles on our own before IUI.
I had no primary infertility issues but it took 17 months for me to conceive this one. I also didn't have a lot of issues that were diagnosable - borderline pcos but everything else was normal. Turns out I needed my thyroid medication altered. Have you had your thyroid levels checked?
I am 2IF with no previous IF also. My infertility is because I had blocked and twisted tubes. I would not have accepted my OB giving me a rx for anything knowing that the RE is where I should be and thank goodness bc without the HSG, and later lap, my problem wouldn't have been fixed. I would def take your referral to the RE's office and speak to someone who is more knowledgeable in getting people pregnant. It'll make you feel a lot better.

I have had my thyroid levels checked - I was hypothyroid but with medication I am within normal limits again and have been for a while. So maybe that was a factor initially but I doubt it is any longer. I don't really want something to be wrong but at least it would be an explanation, you know?

I agree about not accepting Clomid. I did initially because, you know, she's a doctor and what do I know? But I'm glad for what I read on here and my RE appointment is in mid July. Who knows, maybe a miracle will happen and I won't even need to go? I have had an HSG and everything is fine.

No, I haven't seen the RE yet. I just got a referral and have scheduled an appointment. Would that be the likely next step?
