I'm not sure whether or not I should be concerned. It started yesterday and happened maybe a little more than 10 times. I should probably backtrack a bit more to explain how we got here.
Around 8 months, Avie started having stranger anxiety (that's what the Pedi called it) and would give the most awesome "bad looks" to people if they crowded her space, or if we laughed a little bit too hard (to her liking). DH & I thought it was funny because people would be totally thrown off when she would do it.. almost scared at how "angry" she seemed to be with them. That and it would drive away annoying people that wanted to hold her. Her Pedi thought it was pretty funny too. So yeah no concern.
Fast forward to yesterday. She was doing her "angry" face at DH and all of a sudden her eyes roll to the top and she held it there. It was painful to watch. I freaked out and started raising my voice saying "NO. STOP THAT". I don't know if that was egging her on cause she did it again. Today she was on a roll and it got easier and easier for her to do it.
Should I be concerned? Is she doing cause she can? It really looks painful but it looks like she can control it. Obviously she probably doesn't know that it's not a good thing to do but yeah. Can it harm her vision? Will it lead to a seizure? I don't know what to think. Does your LO give angry face to people? Would you be concerned?
Re: Baby Eye Rolling
This, it doesn't sound normal to me.
Completely agree. I would definitely call the pedi. If everything is ok and she is just doing this, MAN!! You have a fun couple of years coming to you when she a teen
It hasn't happened again so far. Kinda like watching water boil... Now that I'm looking out for it, she doesn't do it. Which is GREAT news! Seriously, hoping this is just a phase. She is teething so I expect crankiness but I hope this "angry" look thing goes away. She doesn't have playmates too so that's probably why she's so anxious around other people. Hopefully this is not a sign of things to come! Does anyone's LO seem feisty or sassy at times or is it just mine? To her defense, other than this "problem" she's so good to us!
