It's possible you're not eating enough. There are plenty of women who can lose on 1600 calories and they AREN'T breastfeeding. You probably need more because you are. You're also working out 5-6x a week, I might gather to bet you're not consuming enough. Try upping your calories a bit (jn a healthy way) and see if that budges the scale.
"I basically eat the same thing every day" .. you don't vary your diet, you mean? What do you eat daily? You may want to jiggle things up. Try new foods.
My workouts are this.
I do tabata/muscle. I teach on Tuesday mornings. in the morning when Arianna is sleeping I do my workouts. Luca is really good and just plays or joins in. I do cardio and muscle. I might do my tabata/muscle, 30 day shred, kickboxing, yoga, etc. usually an hour of working out.
then off days I will walk with the kids. Most of the time I am wearing Arianna in the bjornshe doesn't love the carriage and pushing luca in the carriage. so its still a workout.
I eat a lot. breakfast, lunch, dinner, 23 snacks. every time I breastfeed I have a huge glass of water to make sure I am getting my water in. so 810 glasses?
the one thing I noticed on the calorie counter is my sodium is high. maybe that's the problem?
not sure where the sodium is coming from.
breakfast: oatmeal with blueberries and strawberries, vanilla almond milk, coffee
snack: no salt almonds
lunch: turkey sandwichthin and trim low sodium with mustard, banana
snack: granola bar, apple or whole grain crackers
dinner: some sort of protein and veggies, fruit
snack: vanilla almond milk with a cookie.
I know she is only 2 months old. but I want to see the scale going in one direction not the other. the other day I was down 2 lbs now today I am up 2. I don't get it. I am not doing anything differently.
I don't care if its 12 lbs a week. I just hate the gaining when I know I am doing what I did before and lost all that weight before with Luca and I maintained for a year and was still breastfeeding until he was 18 months old. so I know how much to eat etc.
I know what workouts to do.
thanks.

Well said. Up your calories intake with healthy fats so your body doesn't think it's starving. Continue small meals a day as well. Oh and I would drink a lot of water in between meals as well.
I didn't BF so I don't have any input on that side. I started going to the gym hard core at 6 weeks pp. I had the hardest time loosing weight that first 2 months at the gym with a trainer. It was really discouraging. My doctor said that my body was probably wanting to hang on to the fat because it was use to it being pregnant for 9 months. Once I started loosing it was consistent every week. I was 31 at the time.
You're bf, working out, and only eating between 1600-1800 calories a day? No wonder you aren't losing. Try upping your calorie intake a few hundred with healthy calories. Your body has gone into starvation mode and won't let you burn the fat that you should be burning while doing your workouts.
