Re: team Green-ers
BFP #2 EDD 10/2015
this is exactly what i've always wanted. good reminder. must. stay. STRONG! lol
Oh no! You ladies are strong! Congratulations on your decisions!!!! Team green with the first baby is just a big NO for me! I think if it was the 3rd and I had a boy and girl I would do it... ahhh no! Probably would not! lol
I canNOT hold myself! I want to know if it is going all blue or all pink! I cannot wait! If the baby doesn't show at any U/S I think I will have a thing!!! wait until the end to find out? Oh no! I can't! lol
Usually I am not anxious (baby is gonna be 12 weeks tomorrow, and no one at work or in the family knows that I am pregnant-none of the grandparents, uncles, no single family member knows! So usually I am good holding anxiety and secrets) but I got to know the sex of the baby! That would be too much for me!
But I give all my heart to you all that can wait! You ladies are awesome!!!! Go green! (not me!!!! tks!)
Yes, I am having a hard time this time- DH is not. This is the second - we were team green with DS and loved it. I'd say probably one of the best moments in my entire life was hearing DH whisper "boy" into my ear (I had a C/S so could not see). He could barely say it he was crying so hard.
I'm having a hard time with this one because if it's a girl then we'll probably be done having kids. So I realllly want to know if it's a girl or boy! But, DH is having me hold strong.
It's extra hard on these boards right now when you hear what everyone is having. You'll find out soon enough though!
A Boy's Room
A cute idea I've heard of is, have the u/s tech write down the gender on a piece of paper and seal it in an envelope. Give the envelope to a baker, and have him make a cake that's blue or pink on the inside. You can gather family and friends and cut the cake together to reveal the gender with all your loved ones. I always thought that would be a fun way to find out.
BFP#3: 2/9/13 EDD 10/18/17. Team Green for Round 2!
Plus, I really can't handle a pink or blue explosion in our house...I know it will happen eventually, but I want to keep things as neutral for as long as possible.
This, completely. This is one of the big reasons we are waiting. I want my child to have as much time to figure out who he/she wants to be without the gender pressures. I realize that as soon as it is born, that goes at the window. But at least I get this time to have the dream :-). The only time I waver is when I see cute pictures that seem a little too boy-ish or girl-ish. I wish I knew so I could buy them. But then I remember that the pics will still be there to purchase in December. And I'm "not allowed" to climb on stuff to hang pictures right now anyway.
Met 9/2001
This. My husband doesn't want to know so I'm leaning on that. We know a couple in which the wife wanted to know but the husband didn't so the u/s tech wrote it down for her to look at later. She accidentally told her husband a few weeks after she found out and he was a little sad about knowing before the birth but he got over it. I think I would have similar feelings.
This was my exact experience with my DD. an I wouldn't change anything this time. Team green all the way. The feeling of finding out at birth is amazing!
Married - 8/04/2006
DD - 7/31/2011
MC - 12/4/2012 (10.2 weeks)
BFP - 4/15/2013 * Due - 12/20/2013 (Team Green!)
this reminds me of how Sookie found out on Gilmore Girls but Jackson didn't want to know. i can't believe she was able to keep it a secret! (you know, because it was real life and all..lol)
Haha I forgot about that!
If you're not finding out if you're having a girl or a boy (or considering not finding out), there's a website you should know about called NotFindingOut. It's an online baby registry that caters specifically to parents who are waiting for the delivery room surprise. All of Not Finding Out's products are paired into girl and boy complements, so you register for a specific item, you just don't know if you're receiving the girl or boy version of that item. Not Finding Out also carries a lot of gender neutral items so you can register for gender neutral items AND gender specific stuff. If someone buys a gift for you before the baby is born, you will receive a beautifully wrapped Preview Card showing both the girl and boy version of the item they bought instead of the gift itself (since receiving the gender specific gift would spoil the surprise!). As soon as your baby is born, your gender specific gifts are shipped straight to you. Very fun!!!
