Stressed Out!

So, I just found out for work that I am supposed to fly to Vegas for a conference in October. While that sounds great, my DH and I had agreed when I took this job that I would tell them no traveling, and they agreed (I previously traveled quite a bit). I am very stressed out because I know if I tell my DH, he is going to get extremely upset and will want me to tell them I can't go. On the other hand, everyone on my team, including my boss and my direct reports, will be going and it's expected that everyone goes. I don't think my boss will be very happy if I tell him I can't go, and I don't even know what excuse I would use. I'm pretty upset trying to figure out what to do, and feel like I can't talk to DH about it because it's just going to lead to a huge fight (which we've had enough of lately, anyway). I'm not sure if anyone has advice but mostly I just had to tell someone!

    Could he and the the baby come along and he could watch him while you're working?

     It's not your fault, you shouldn't feel bad.  It's your job.  And mom's deserve some fun time too (it is Vegas) so you shouldn't feel guilty about leaving.

    I have to travel for 7 days in October as well and have been throwing around the idea of having my mom and LO travel with me.  I am not sure this is the best idea as I already will be working 15 hr days, but the idea is still on the plate. Would something like that be possible? I am in a little bit of a different situation as I knew I would have to travel - it's a yearly thing. Good luck!
