Wedding Wednesday...help me!
So I am pretty sure we did a song list already but I can't search it and I have so many song ideas and choices I'm overwhelmed.
What song did you use for....
Your bridesmaids walking down the aisle?
you walking down the aisle?
you and DH walking down the aisle after?
your introduction as husband and wife?
First dance?
father/daughter or mother/son dance?
cake cutting song (if you did one)?
And any other songs you think of, except we are not doing garter toss or bouquet.
Thanks so much!

What song did you use for....
Your bridesmaids walking down the aisle?
you walking down the aisle? Allison Kraus and Sting: You will be my Ain True Love
you and DH walking down the aisle after? So excited I don't remember
your introduction as husband and wife? Something fun I think
First dance? Lifehouse "Everything" although I wish it was Journey's Faithfully
father/daughter or mother/son dance?
cake cutting song (if you did one)?
Yay! I love Wedding Wednesday!!
Your bridesmaids walking down the aisle? Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring [classical guitarist]
you walking down the aisle? Same
you and DH walking down the aisle after? For the Beauty of the Earth [classical guitarist]
your introduction as husband and wife? We didn't do this, we just wandered in from cocktail hour along with everyone else and the same cocktail hour music played during dinner. We had the band's guitarist play background music of his choosing, I think he traded off with the keyboard if I recall correctly.
First dance? Getting Some Fun Out of Life by Billie Holliday
father/daughter or mother/son dance? I'm soooo mortified I can't remember!! Oh, no wait. It was the same as our first dance song. We traded off every 30 sec or so bc we were both mortified about dancing in front of everyone. And then we instructed our wedding party to all start dancing together after a few rounds. I seriously got stage fright and almost told the wedding planner we wanted to skip the whole thing. Hated it. I also hate hate hate when you dance the whole song together, and then the bride and her fater dance for a whole song, and then the groom and his mother dance for a whole song. And then 15 minutes later, it's time to party. Yawwwwwwn.
cake cutting song (if you did one)? Didn't have music that I remember.
And any other songs you think of, except we are not doing garter toss or bouquet. We had the guitarist play a lot of traditional hymns while people were waiting for the ceremony to start.
Also, I don't know what you're planning. Our band was a total splurge for us, but they were incredible. We'd been to a few other weddings they did and were so impressed, so we decided to go for it. Now, at every wedding we go to, our friends are like, "Remember the band at your wedding? They were awesome! Remember when they trumpet guy played two trumpets at once? Remember how the keyboard player started playing along while we sang [our sorority song]? That was crazy how the girl singer sounded just like Mariah Carey!" They were seriously amazing and made the night sooo much fun. They were definitely worth every penny. So, my advice is to spring for the great band or the super fun DJ. I don't think you'll regret it.
"A new baby is like the beginning of all things--wonder, hope, a dream of possibilities."
What song did you use for....
Your bridesmaids walking down the aisle? Vitamin String Quartet version of Don't Stop Believin (this is our song... long story... anyway, it was in our wedding several times)
you walking down the aisle? The normal wedding march/bridal chorus song, in a strings version to match all of our Vitamin String quartet stuff.
you and DH walking down the aisle after? My Best Friend - Weezer (DH's pick, but I like it)
your introduction as husband and wife? Basically the instrumental intro to Don't Stop Believin (we had them slice it exactly how we wanted it for the time frame for this).
First dance? Can't Help Fallin in Love - Elvis
father/daughter or mother/son dance? Didn't have one (my dad was in the hospital) I wanted to use Stealing Cinderella - Chuck Wicks
cake cutting song (if you did one)? Don't remember if we had a song for this.
We had a ton of fun picking out our songs. The beginning of our reception when people were arriving was about an hour of all Vitamin String Quartet versions of popular rock type songs. Our guests loved it.
What song did you use for....
Your bridesmaids walking down the aisle? At Last, Etta James
you walking down the aisle? Canon in D
you and DH walking down the aisle after? Another One Bites the Dust, Queen
your introduction as husband and wife? DJ picked. I can't remember what it was.
First dance? My Best Friend, Tim McGraw
father/daughter or mother/son dance? We all danced at once to What a Wonderful World, Louie Armstrong
cake cutting song (if you did one)? Didn't have one
And any other songs you think of, except we are not doing garter toss or bouquet.
We gave the DJ a list of all of our wedding party's songs with their SO and requested they play those for our only slow songs.
We also requested Bob Marley, Paul Simon and Norah Jones for cocktail hour/dinner music.
Your bridesmaids walking down the aisle? I can't remember. All I know is it was a classical song you usually hear when you see fancy dinner partys in movies lol.
you walking down the aisle? It was another classical song...the title was like, winter in december or something. All I know is that it was really pretty and since I was a december baby I felt like it represented me.
And considering no one heard this music anyway it's as if I had no music for this at all. We were outside and the only plug for our little stereo was too far and no one had an extension cord. Even having the volume all the way up no one heard it. I was les sad when I found this out
you and DH walking down the aisle after? We didn't have any.
your introduction as husband and wife? The bridal party came in to "Eye of the Tiger", which was awesome! and then we came in to "Jesse's Girl" (DH's name is Jesse)
First dance? Disney's Cinderella's "So This is Love". I even extended it myself to make it longer since it is such a short song.
father/daughter or mother/son dance? We didn't have one.
cake cutting song (if you did one)? Didn't have one
And any other songs you think of, except we are not doing garter toss or bouquet.
