Anyone done this? Where do you find a place that does this? We're planning on going to PHX next month, and it would be great if we could rent a car seat. TIA!
We have rented strollers at the beach and companys will rent all sorts of baby gear- cribs, packknplays, highchairs, strollers, wagons, etc. I would just google crib/baby rentals near your destination. Car seats can usually be rented from car rental company. However many moms on this board (myself included) do not feel safe renting a seat because of its unknown history.
I wouldn't rent a car seat. You don't know what that seat has been through and it could easily have been in an accident. You can rent anything else but I wouldn't rent a car seat.
We were 2 under 2, now 3 under 3!
Team Green turned Team Pink with #1, Team Green turned Team Blue with #2, Team Green turned Team Pink again with #3
If you're flying you can rent car seats at the airport car rentals. I have done this before at a major airport. Otherwise, I have rented other gear (cribs, high chair, toys) from google search and reading reviews. Each time, I have rented from a company (usually local) the gear has been NIB or barely used and in excellent shape at a low/reasonable cost that includes delivery and pick up.

Most airlines allow you to check a car seat free of charge and do not count it toward your total allowed baggage. We are planning on putting in a car seat bag and checking it for our trip in July.
Also Hi from PHX, what brings you down to us in the heat of the summer?

I had heard checking the car seat can ruin it's safety. We just got back from vacay where we bought a seat for LO...well it was an expensive vacation, so we're just hoping to lap child him this time. I would gate check, but I'm nervous about the handling of it.
Right!? My BIL and his family live there. They have a cabin near Flagstaff, so DH's whole family is getting together up there, we all rented the cabin next door to their's as well so we'd all fit. Hopefully Northern AZ isn't disgustingly hot! Bonus, is one of my good friends live there so we'll stay with her and her husband the first night then head out to Flagstaff. Thanks for the welcome and advice!
We traveled (from PHX) to Maui a few weeks ago and rented a crib, jogging stroller and highchair for our 10 month old. Worked out GREAT! The one thing I didn't rent was a car seat - we lugged that convertible monster on a wheeled cart specifically designed for a car seat. I bought it off amazon. It was great to have both for a place to put DD, we wheeled her around in it, and to load up with bags when I was carrying DD.
Babysaway I think is one rental agency.
We used a local company, however: Wild Wheels Wentals - how cute is that?
I think i remebering hearing to that some Babierus places rent stuff. I went on vacation with my nieces and we rented a packnplay and high chair through the hotel. We brought our own sheets for the packnplay.
