Yes to gifts

I know a lot of people request no gifts for bday party and logically i understand that but the selfish part of me is super excited to see what gifts LO will get at her bday.
Am I horrible? Anyone else actually want the gifts too?

Re: Yes to gifts

  • We do. I dont know if anyone is getting him anything but I definitely want to see him open gifts. And then eat wrapper. Its tradition.

I will add that aside fromYule,  we dont buy presents for our kids. The party is our gift.

  • I'm looking forward to other people giving gifts. If that is wrong, I dont want to be right!

  • Yes! But here in NJ for the 1st birthday it's usually 50 to 100 cash.
  • We want gifts, but the fact is that we barely know the families of Gabes little friends, so asking them to bring gifts feels wrong...I want them at his party for the memories, not the gifts. That being said, if I was back home with all my friends and their families, and my family? Bring on the presents!

    I'm moving to NJ!

It's true. I always got tons of stuff at bday parties.

  • People would be offended if we said no gifts and not listen anyway. I'm a little worried about getting them home because we are having his party in Indiana.
