Re: TTT It's Ten Things Tuesday!!

  • 1. Wow! That was a long and amazing weekend.

    2. Saturday was our beautiful, magnificent, perfect Love Party. Everything I wanted and more. Our friends and family contributed so much in terms of food, labor, and variety show acts and it just made it that much more special to have so many be a partr of making the day happen.

    image

    3. Those are a few of the photos from our ceremony at the Love Party. We haven't gotten the photos from our photographer yet (she is our friend and was busy Sunday and Monday with our other activities) so we will do a post specifically about the Love Party, when we get some of those. Manada is the one in the dress.

    4. After the afternoon Love Party on Saturday, we had an After Party Saturday night (so nice to be able to relax and hang out with some of our friends). Then Sunday we had a casual brunch buffet at a pub that about 40 people came to. Then Monday we had a small civil ceremony at city hall to do the legal marriage thing.

    5. I'm on the train to Montreal right now. M is already there (flew there last night) because she is attending a conference there this week. We're both going to work during the day and then have time for the two of us in the evenings. :)

    6. M is so sick! We were able to convince her to nap Sunday afternoon and to take this morning off from the conference, so hopefully her body will start recovering soon.

    7. The last of my family heads back to the U.S. today. It was so great to have them here. My parents and brothers and a couple aunts/family friends stayed in a vacation rental house for 5 days. It was so nice for them to have a house instead of a hotel.

    8. Now that the LP is over, I have to get back to my dissertation. When I finish TTT, I will start that.

    9. We haven't figured out what we're going to do yet in terms of our next steps in TTC. It will definitely be IVF, but we don't know if we'll do it this Fall or wait until  we can save more money.

    10. I wish we had independently wealthy relatives who could give us $10,000 as an LP gift. :)

    ****loss discussed*****

We're queer. I'm 33, have severe stage 4 endo, and had both fallopian tubes removed. My love ("Manada" on the boards, 32) was diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve. We did Partner IVF (my eggs, her uterus). We lost our twins Tavin and Casey at 21 weeks gestation.

    Our IUIs
with @Manada: IUI# 1-7 (December 2012- September 2013) all BFN. Tried natural, femara, clomid, puregon/follistim, clomid and menopur combo, both the ovidrel and HCG triggers.

    Our IVFs:
IVF #1 my eggs November/December 2013: Cancelled IVF due to poor response

    IVF #2 my eggs/Manada's uterus January/February 2014
BCPs and lupron overlap Stimmed: 1/22-2/2: Bravelle and Menopur (dosage ranged from B300 and M150 to B375 and M150 to B300 and M225)
2/4 retrieved 10 eggs. Endo was much worse than expected. Only 3 eggs fertilized; February 7 transferred two day 3 embryos, froze one. All great condition.
    BFP eve of 6dp3dt; Beta 1 (11dp3dt): 110; Beta 2 (13dp3dt): 175; Beta 3 (15dp3dt): 348; Beta 4 (19dp3dt): 2222; Beta 5 (21dp3dt): 4255
    1st ultrasound (3/6  6w 1d): TWINS!!!! Twin A measuring 6w1d with a heartbeat of 118bpm. Twin B measuring 6w0d with a heartbeat of 113bpm.

***July 18, 2014 we lost our beautiful babies at 21 weeks gestation. They were born too early. Tavin Sara T. and Casey Elizabeth T. are beautiful and precious and we will love them and miss them forever.***

    FET #1 December 2014
Intralipid infusion on Dec 10. Transfer of 1 day 3 nine-cell embryo into my uterus on Dec. 19. (acupuncture immediately before and after)
    BFP on Dec. 27; Beta 1 Jan 2 (14dp3dt): 665, Beta 2 Jan 4 (16dp3dt): 1859, Beta 3 Jan 6 (18dp3dt): 4449, Beta 4 Jan 10 (22dp3dt): 12,251.

    1.  Heal's arriving to Mtl today by train and I can't wait to see her this evening so we can have one-on-one time in this fancy hotel room my office is paying for!

    2.  I'm in Montreal for a conference this week and sick as a dog!   I'm taking the morning/day off today to try to recover a bit, but I'm feeling a bit guilty for being sick when I'm supposed to be networking.

    3.  The Love Party was WONDERFUL.  I am totally blown away by the outpouring of love and support from our communities.

    4.  Our Love Party was really about community.  I am totally loving getting the thank yous from our people this week letting us know they left it feeling full of joy and love.   I think many people had a much better time than they expected to.

    5.  I love daytime TV and high thread-count sheets!

    6.  My work-wife/friend/chosen sister spent the weekend hanging with us and her kids.  I feel so honoured to be one of the people her kids trust, love and are comfortable with.

    7.  I'm getting more used to and comfortable with the new direction our in/fertility journey is taking us.  It's changing my ideas about how I thought I would parent, but in good ways I think.

    8.  I am doing TTT now instead of replying to the overwhelming number of work emails I have.

    9. Monday is our next LGBTQ infertility support group.  I'm looking forward to it.

    10.  I really miss working in the queer community.  The conference I'm at has a disappointing lack of queer content - boo!

  • 1. Summer school started yesterday, but it is pretty much babysitting as it is all online and I just have to sit, stare at them, occasionally ask them to be quiet, answer any questions that I can, grade submissions, and then send them home by noon. Getting a lot of internet research done

    2. I have been so tired lately. I also have been taking a HPT for several days. I know I shouldn't but I can't help it. My test ended up negative today so I guess the trigger shot is finally out of my system. HOPE for a BFP this weekend.

    3. I REALLY have to go to the bathroom, sorry TMI, but it is what it is.

    4. We are going out for a ladies night. It's taco tuesday...a little poetic LOL

    5. My cell phone is irritating me. I need to buy a new cover, but just don't want to

    6. Need to go home and wash the dogs.  Good times there. Also need to clean the snake cage....good times

    7. Going to have to cut it for now and go babysit the parking lot

  • 1. I herniated a disc in my back and am not recovering nearly as fast as I would like.

    2. As a result of #1, I had to skip a two day backpacking trip with my DW and nephew and I am still devastated. It was nephew's first adventure and I wanted to be there, but I am glad they are having a great time.

    3. As a result of #2, I miss my DW dearly. She was working at the station for 3 days, and then came home to leave for this 3 day trip. When she comes home, I get her for a few hours and she is back to the station for another 24 hour shift. I miss her.

    4. The weather is STUNNING here today. 70, sunny, no humidity.

    5. Because of #4, I was able to put laundry on the line and I'm pumped about it.

    6. I'm going to try and make homemade laundry soap tonight. It should be interesting. We are really tired of clothing getting ruined because of the store bought crap!

    7. I've been walking every day for an hour in hopes of healing my disc and losing weight. It takes the first 15 minutes before I'm out of pain for the rest of the walk.

    8. DW and I are going to actively start ttc in September. We are excited. Due to the fact that insurance is so overpriced, it actually makes more sense (financially, believe it or not it is cheaper) to pay cash for all things related to baby. If we are successful, we are going to put baby on DW insurance.

    9. Really hoping for a great ruling from the Supreme Court and I pray my State legalizes, or at the very least, recognizes marriage.

    10.  If anyone has herniated disc recommendations, please share. I do not carry insurance, so everything is cash for us- so I'm trying as much at home as possible.

TTC our first. Married to, and madly in love with, my beautiful wife. Living with our fur baby and enjoying 19 nieces and nephews.

  • 1. My birthday was yesterday :) I'm officially 25, which makes me feel...different lol

    2. Our 4 fur-babies are cooperating and letting me work today, this almost never happens.

    3. I don't think we have anything planned for tonight, so K and I can just relax and finish watching "Identity Thief"

    4. I REALLY need to do laundry...like REALLY.  K did 4 loads yesterday and I am totally slacking.

    5. AT&T is coming Thursday to install cable & internet (we are switching from Comcast) and I really hate having strangers in the house while I'm home alone but I need to be a trooper since K took off work yesterday to come to the RE appt with me!

    6. My mom keeps talking about buying the house next door to us so she can be close to future grand babies and it excites me, but what happens if I can't have babies?

    7. Is it Friday yet?

    8. My court date to change my last name to K's is coming up FAST and I'm super excited!

    9. I can't wait to get our wedding photos back!!!

    10. Is it 5 yet?

    1. I was so excited to see photos from Healz & Manada's Love Party! Simply beautiful ladies -- so happy to hear that it was a wonderful day, and your photos are gorgeous! :)

    2. TTC Update: This AM was my CD12 u/s. I had 2 follicles on the left side measuring at 18.5mm and 19mm
Dr said they were right next to each other. She also said my lining "looked great"
She said that I look "ready to go" -- soooo.... Ttriggering tonight, and IUI Thursday morning at 8:30AM!
Our sperm from the new donor and new sperm bank is en route, and will be delivered at the dr's office some time tomorrow (just in the nick of time)! Here we go for IUI#4!

    3. I had a work meeting from 9am-1pm today, and it was a killer! Marathon meetings (anything 4 hours or longer) usually are tough... I feel totally spent now!

    4. I rearranged my schedule so I can work from home on Thursday after my IUI, so I am happy about that.

    5. I have really bad poison ivy... I might have posted about this in last week's TTT, I can't remember... I worked in the yard (our "jungle") two Sunday's ago, and seem to have encountered poison ivy without knowing it. I have had it over a week now. I am just using over-the-counter anti-itch cream and covering the yucky patches with large bandaids. I don't want to use anything strong due to TTC and my upcoming IUI. I will just have to hope that it dries up on it's own soon...

    6. I am super pumped to be getting estimates from landscapers tonight and tomorrow night after work. I am hoping that the quotes are competitive and that we can afford to hire one of them to work on the jungle so that I don't have to anymore! It is truly the bain of my existence at this point.

    7. I am frustrated with my new intern at work AND another one of my employees gave her notice last week AND my rock star employee is out on vacation this week. Soooo.... I need deep breathing exercises. LOL

    8. We went to Boston to visit my family this past weeked. It was a good visit. it made me happy.

    9. I need a vacation.

    10. I hope the 4th time is the charm...

  • 1. Life has been so hectic lately, I feel like I can't catch my breath!

    2. We have our final home visit tonight to become licensed foster parents.  But we still have a few things to  complete on our end before we are officially licensed.

    3. We have been lucky and had wonderful people donate items for our future children.  We wanted to wash and organize all of the kids clothes we have acquired over the last few month.  OMG, its crazy!!  Our queen bed is covered in clothes and we still have two huge garbage bags to go.

    4. We have taken a TTC break all while going thru this process to become foster parents.  But going thru little baby clothes just makes me want a baby of my own even more.

    5. We finally got all of our old roommates stuff out of the spare room and into her storage unit.  We have a crib, bed, dresser and glider set up in the "kids" room.  We don't know if we will get a baby, toddler or older child.  But we have a little bit of stuff for all ages between 0-5 years old.

    6. We had an extremely busy weekend  with a 1 year old birthday party, graduation party and then cleaning and organizing the "kids room"

    7. I think I overdid it because Sunday night I got a sharp pain in my left hip and couldn't walk.  My DW had to help me to bed and Monday I woke up and couldn't put any weight on my left leg.  I went to the Dr and I have tendinitis in my left hip.  She gave me some medication and I am feeling better today.

    8. The good result of #7 is that I have been off work yesterday and today.  So I have been able to get some stuff done around the house.  I have been quite the sight hobbling around the house using a walker and trying to do laundry and other stuff.  Its pretty comical

    9. Columbus, Ohio PRIDE is this weekend and unfortunately we are not able to go :-(  We are really trying to save every penny we can right now and I was offered a babysitting opportunity on Saturday night.  I am going to make money instead of spending it.  It sucks but it is the responsible thing to do

    10. It makes me feel great that so many of my friends have trusted me to watch their children.  I was previously a nanny and now babysit part time (on top of working in a restaurant during the week)   I have had many people tell me they don't trust their children with anyone except family, but they trust me.  That makes me feel amazing!

I hope all of you have a wonderful day!!!

  • 1. I am mega, wicked, utterly and epically crushed for ball.and.chain. 2. RE#1, I think the "missed miscarriage" is one of the nastiest things in nature. Unfair to have your baby die. Extra unfair that you don't get to know about it for days/weeks. Boo. 3. I actually have GOOD NEWS though on our TTC front: Our Egg Donor's chromosome array came back negative for any deletions!! Tomorrow is our appt. with the genetic counselor to understand it all better, but, it appears our loss baby was a carrier either by fluke or by the sperm donor. 4. This means our embryos are good to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 5. I also go my CT scan back and I do not have kidney stones AND my ovary is actually the same size it was a year ago (!?!?) - so now I'm at a loss of what has caused me so much pain this last month. 6. I start my official FET calendar today. I should be more excited but I think once we get thru tomorrow and then my suppression check on 6/27 I might relax. 7. We are 'fostering' 4 fertile chicken eggs underneath our wickedly broody cochin hen, Alice. She has an egg donor just like us! they are called Crested Swedish Flower hens. 8. The chicks' due date is TODAY! I keep going and poking Alice to see if there is any action under there. Nothing yet. 9. Work has been insane. I feel like every day I'm getting shot out of a cannon. 10. This weekend is the Fremont Solstice Parade in Seattle - it's quite a site! Bing it to see photos and you'll see :) - it's just 6 blocks from our house and we have out of town guests coming to enjoy it this year with us from Ohio and Utah. They are in for a treat.

Thanks lady.  And I'm so glad for your good news!

  • 1. 4dpiui. Still going pretty quick.

    2. I think it is going quickly because it is the end of the school year and I have a lot to do at work to clean up. I was a 7th grade Math teacher.

    3. Was 7th because now I have been moved to teach the 8th grade. I don't have to change buildings or anything, but I do have to teach a new curriculum.

    4. My coworker bitched and complained soo much that my principle gave in and gave her 7th.

     5. I think they chose me because I do my job and I would not complain, and they are right. I did almost cry todayCrying

    6. Okay so I have tried to look at the positives. The group of students I had this year were imature, but overall good kids. So I hope they stay that way after the summer, maybe grow up a bit.

    7. I am taking a class to go towards my masters +60. I am going to "Math Camp" haha. Well it is designed to help you get a head start for the beginning of next year.

    8. I like the 8th grade curriculum better. Less units to cover, but you do have to go in depth with all of the units.

    9. Okay enough with work. I just don't know with this tww. I want to keep my hopes up, but its hard to.

    10. I love my little nephew he is soo cute, and such a good baby. I hope we have a baby as good as him, and I hope that is will start in 10days!!

  • 1.  Feeling heartbroken for very good friends who recently experienced their third loss.  And although new to this board, feeling heartbroken for B&C's loss.

    2.  Started experiencing uncomfortable pregnancy symptoms just within the last couple of days - round ligament pain and heartburn.

    3. Although uncomfortable, these new pregnancy symptoms are reassuring that my body is doing what it needs to do.  After my loss, I remember feeling like I would give anything to feel the discomforts that pregnant ladies were complaining about.

    4.  Love seeing the pictures of the Love Party.  Makes me happy to see two people celebrating their love.

    5.  Had a frustrating day at work.  Appears that there may be some snafus in the higher ups making an offer on the promotion I interviewed for last week.  Hoping everything gets resolved soon.

    6. Z is watching basketball with her coworkers this evening.  Normally I'm a little pouty when she's gone in the evenings (I've been more needy since I've been pregnant), but actually enjoying some quiet around the house.

    7. Trying to get through a book for a book club get-together on Sunday.  It's not terribly engaging, but it was my pick and I am leading discussion... so must plug on.

    8. Feeling guilty for not taking Bama for a walk this evening, but it's sooo hot outside and I'm sooo tired.

    9. Feeling really happy that I'm becoming part of this community.  I've perused my birth month forums and people aren't that nice.

    10.  Wishing all those in their TWW success!

We make our own laundry soap, my DW found  an easy inexpensive recipe on pinterest.   It works and smells great!

    6. I'm going to try and make homemade laundry soap tonight. It should be interesting. We are really tired of clothing getting ruined because of the store bought crap!

We made our own for awhile, now we use Melaleuca. All the nasty chemicals in store bought detergents really scared me. My house is in the process of going green. 100% chemical free, No paper, No plastic. (However, I just cant get on board with re-usable TP, we will still be using regular TP) haha!

We are far from being green in our house.  But we were trying to save money and decided to try the home made detergent.  It is working out pretty well so far.  We have even made our own carpet powder and cleaning supplies.

I don't think I could go as far as reusable toilet paper, lol
