After picking up LO from daycare today, we went shopping.  Typically when we're shopping, I let him take one thing we're already buying to play with it, chew on it, whatever.  Today, it was a (very cool looking, lime green) mini-colander.  He was enjoying chewing on the handles, etc.  I never noticed that he started to eat the tag...  which was made of paper, not plastic.  While I was examining an item, I heard him start to cough a few times and I turned my head.  Sure enough, he was THISCLOSE to swallowing the gummed up tag.  I quickly fished out the tag clumps from his mouth, and he was fine.  But I felt awful.  Stupid, stupid, stupid.

    Don't worry, LO will eat far worse things in the coming years. It happens, at least you caught it in time.

    Agree with this completely. DD1 ate a slug. A slug. 

    She named him Fred, then ate him. A paper tag is the least of your worries :)

    Lol on the slug thing! My DD had a nice string of dog fur hanging from her mouth while playing her her blanket the other day. I ripped it out, threw it and it stuck to the wall! I left it for DH to see as a story from our day.
