GAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH........okay, before I go all passive-aggressive on Facebook, I need to vent. And please tell me if I'm being overly-sensitive (okay don't.....please tell me that these two are jerks!)

Loooooong story try to make short but not.....

Friends w/ pregnant woman months ago through weird reasons. I wrote about a baby blog on her website that helps w/ selecting baby gear. Her jerk friend says, "Be careful! The site supports circumcision which is the worst thing you can ever doooo!!" etc.

Pregnant friend says sorry about jerk friend! I tell her how hard of a decision it was for us....I respect both sides of the decision, etc.

Pregnant friend finds out she's having a boy. Pregnant friend becomes MEGA anti-circumcision and decides to blast all over FB that if you circ your son you are "causing him life long pain" and he will be "unwordly".

I'm all WTF.....did we not just have this convo. Whatever.

Pregnant friend sends FB message out about how she got SO many things at her shower (and names my gift) and asks what she should "return it all for".. Strike 2.

Pregnant friend had her son yesterday. Writes on FB that besides "cervadil, pitocin and some painkillers" she had him "naturally". WTF is naturally anyway? Good for you. Yay.

Jerk friend (from above) sends an email out about how we all said at pregnant friend's shower that we'd make her (vegan, gluten free) meals for the next THREE MONTHS. She also reiterates that pregnant friend had the baby with "pitocin, cervadil, painkillers, but otherwise totally natural."

Okay, at this point my blood is boiling. Granted, the last day of school is tomorrow and I am at the peak of stress......but am I being too sensitive? We're really not that great of friends and I was actually surprised I was even invited to her shower in the first place.

Does anyone else think the "I went natural" thing is really annoying. Seriously, good for you if you did it...but I didn't even have the choice to, I never went into labor and had a C section. Does that make his birth "un-natural"?

And what about ripping apart a circ choice via FB? Wrong, right???

Okay thanks....I feel better for venting. I promise to become a more productive member of J12 after tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think they are both acting like total jerks. If you aren't that close with the friend who just had the baby, I'd just ignore the message from the other jerk about the meals and such. 3 months for meals?? WTH. I had a c-section and I was cooking meals on my own as soon as I got home from the hospital. Why does this chick think she's so special?

Oh and I'd be pissed if I was you about that message about her wanting to return your gift. How rude.

Voicing your opinion on circumcision via facebook...fine. Shaming people who decided to circ...not fine.

Bragging about how many gifts you got at the shower instead of making an announcement thanking everyone for thinking of you....tacky. Asking what you should return your stuff for....beyond tacky.

Having a natural childbirth including labor inducing drugs and painkillers....impossible. Being a complete dumbass and calling it a natural birth just because the baby came out your vag instead of an incision....entirely possible.

Unfriend these two immediately. Or don't and entertain us with all the dumb stuff they say.

ETA: I use the term "natural" since it's the most widely accepted term for a nonmedicated birth, but obviously C-sections and epidural births aren't "unnatural".

I think some people put way too much into the whole natural vs not thing. Whatever! Do whatever is right for you in birthing a human so that both of you come out alive. I mean really? Who Cares?

They are both being a-holes. And the baby shower thing would have been the nail in the coffin for me. I would be DONE with that friendship.

I'm sorry... What exactly does this mean?? Because it sounds a lot like you're lumping me in with these "cuntbuckets"...

If you're assuming because I'm a doula that I only support women who choose med free, or even vaginal birth, you are grossly mistaken.

If you're assuming this about me because of something I've said in the past, please tell me what, so that I can hopefully explain myself to you, and NEVER say it to another mother. I sincerely apologize if I EVER made you or any other mama feel that her birth was unnatural. Let me make myself very clear: I DO NOT think that!

I think that you should congratulate thus friend on her Facebook page and tell her that other than the epidural or spinal whichever you had yours was a natural birth too. Because PAINKILLERS don't count, according to her. Then let her know that the meal you're making will arrive within the next few days a big beefy lasagna!

You all seriously made me laugh and realize that I'm not crazy, thanks!

For interest's sake, I went to the online calendar where we're all supposed to sign up for kitchen duty, and she seriously has 3 meals coming to her a week through July!!!! AND, in addition to saying she's vegan/gluten free, it also said not to put onion or garlic in the food because it will make the baby colicky.

And.....the best part.....(i'm being too lazy to copy and paste)....it pretty much says "when you get to her house, text her that the food is on her porch and leave. do not make eye contact. do not talk to her. just freaking drop the food and leave." Ok, not a direct quote, but I couldn't believe all of that. It DID say to text her and leave it, though. Awesome.

Unbelievable. Okay, it may be the wine talking, but is it bad that I secretly hope she fails at everything she does w/ this baby now???? I hope her $495 organic baby swing (not kidding) helps the little guy sleep.

Both of these women sound like they are in need of a crotch punch - or several.

And I'm sorry, but when I hear "I had a natural childbirth" I do not picture someone who was induced and had pain medication. That's sort of like saying "I don't smoke ... except for on the weekends and when I'm drinking". Saying you were "all natural" implies something other than what her situation was. And seriously - you do not deserve a mother-fing medal and extra-super-special-snowflake pampering because you think you're the first cow to push a baby out of your now-flappity vagina. GOD. I'm pissed.

I do hope that kid hates the stupid swing, and barfs up all of that vegan BS food that people are dropping off at their doorstep around the clock. Please, karma, J12 needs you on this one!
