What was your LO's first reaction ro solids? How long did your baby take to come around without spitting the food out?

DD was so funny when I first gave her banana, he face scrunched and gave a look like "OH GOD WHAT DID YOU JUST GIVE ME, IT'S SO WEIRD"

    We have not officially started solids yet... But I let him lick a banana I was holding. He couldn't get enough!! Grabbed it to his mouth and wouldn't let go!

    It took DS about three bites to figure out how to keep it in his mouth and swallow...he made a face every time the first two feedings but always opened his mouth for more! LOL! He pretty much makes the face with every new flavor. But so far always goes for more.

    Same here too!  We have done pears, sweet peas, and sweet potatoes.  I am debating between a butternut squash or apple for tonight.  I am making her purees at this point.

    She did the same scrunched up look and most of it ended up on her then her, she still does that for bananas. She just hates them. Carrots and Green Beans though....she is all about that, she gets so excited and sits there with her mouth open. Her hands and feet even start shaking.

    Mine HATES banana, but is all about the sweet potatoes and apples. Not sure what i want to try next, debating between peas or squash. 
    He's and enthusiastic eater though, with the exception of bananas lol.

    7/5/11 MC at 8 weeks. 5/17/12 BFP, twins EDD 1/20/13! 6/20/12 Baby B's heart has stopped beating. 8/31/12 Baby A is a boy! And is perfectly healthy and thriving. 1/19/2013 emergency c-section, Thoren is perfect. 3/1/2013 told i will never be able to conceive again. 12/16/13 told they were wrong!

    We started with some oatmeal and DD loved it. We are excited to try some veggies and fruits because if she likes the bland oatmeal, she will probably gobble up those.

    Cole made a funny face and spit out the first bite ... then he managed to eat an entire ounce. He has pretty much gobbled up everything since that first bite.

    We started with rice cereal and she wasn't too interested. She would eat it but only a few bites and was done. My doctor wanted me to start with veggies so we first tried sweet potatoes and she didn't like them. The next day we gave her carrots and she loved them. She also loves squash and sits there with her mouth wide open like a little bird. If we try to wipe her mouth she fusses because she just wants to eat more.
