Nap schedule

Do any of your LOs have a regular nap schedule? My DS is not the best napper at home or daycare. He'll nap for longer at home, but getting to the crib is tricky. He prefers to nap on me or DH. I'd like to help him nap better because I think he's getting overly tired, and this is making bedtime routine difficult a whole separate issue. Any advice is welcome.

Re: Nap schedule

  • My DD goes down for her morning nap 2 hours after waking every day without fail. She use to nap in her swing but last week I tried the crib since she sleeps there all night. The first try she cried off and on for a bit then slept for 2 hours. Now every day I take her up and nurse her in her room and put her in her crib for the morning nap. I haven't succeeded in an afternoon crib nap yet because she always seems to nap in the car or stroller when we are out and I usually go out somewhere everyday.

  • DD takes a nap about 1.5 hours after she wakes up. Another nap about 1.5 hours after she wakes up from the first nap. So on and so forth until it is time for bed.

  • He is starting to move towards the "up for 2, down for 2" routine. I know that he can't stay up for more than 1.5-2 hours so I just start getting him settled for a nap regardless of if he's "telling" me he's tired or not because I know he is Wink He goes down easier when he's not too tired, we don't have to fight as much.

  • Not really on a schedule yet because her wake up times are always different, but first nap is usually the longest, about an hour and a half after waking.  Then, it's every hour and a half to 2 hours after that.  She needs 4 naps a day still.  She's always put in her crib for naps, but sometimes the swing at daycare.

This is us too, it all depends on her wake up times.
