While playing outside, E keeps taking her hat off and throwing it on the ground. I keep picking it up and putting it back on. We have 8000 sq ft of yard and I just can't wander around behind her all afternoon putting her hat back on. Nothing is working - not speaking to her clearly about it, not threats, not making her sit down with me for a while after she takes it off, not going inside for a while, not yelling. Nothing. The hat has a strap that supposed to make it hard to take off. Yeah right.
Any suggestions?
Re: Discipline Problem
I thought the title was cheeky. Oh well.
Ooh those are super cute. I need to order one. Thanks for the suggestion. This velcro strap is not cutting it!

The only thing that remotely works for us is telling her that if she doesn't keep her hat on, she is going to have to go inside. Then if she takes it off, I bring her inside and she cries because she wants to go back out, so I tell her again that she is going to have to keep her hat on if she wants to be outside. It seems to work because she has been keeping her hat on more, and she will usually put it back on with the mention of "inside." But it took a lot of work to get to this point!
I have no idea what to do when we go to the beach and there is no inside though!
