Ok I cannot stop planning the nursery! I haven't bought anything yet, but my decorating wheels are turning. I can't wait to see how it will all come together.
So who here has a crib picked out yet? Care to share a link? I've pretty much decided that I'm getting this one in the pewter finish. https://www.brattdecor.com/products/joy_baby_crib_pewter.cfm?ship_from=1&cat_id=1&sub_id=2
ahhh, swoon.
Anyone here have one of the Bratt Decor iron cribs? Thoughts?
ETA: I will add bumpers to this and a teething protector if that becomes an issue. Thanks for the suggestions! I've read several pro/con articles on wood or iron and and most people that use iron cribs really didn't report many problems with them, and they hold up forever.
Re: Picked out the crib(s) yet?
My poor 2nd child is already getting shafted... they'll be lucky to even have a room when they are born! i have done very little thinking or planning at this point, and my DD's crib has already been converted to her full size bed so we will need to buy one when the time comes.
I can't wait to meet you Neva Margaret Rebecca
That crib is gorgeous.
My sister is giving us my nieces crib she is almost 2 and they are done with it. So we won't need to go shopping for one. I do plan on painting it white though once we get it.
Now with two on the way, not that I am not grateful and I truly hope for two squishy babies in 7 months, I just don't know what to do. Our 2 bedroom house is just feeling extra small all of a sudden. The worst of it is that more than ever we will need somewhere to put guests since I will definitely want help from our moms (both live on the east coast). So not only do we have a "where do we put two" problem, but we really have a "where do we put our help" problem.
I am so so crappy at decorating, too.
We're re-using one of our cherry finish wooden convertible cribs. If I were getting a new one though, I think I'd go for white this time because it makes bedding pop more.
My ILs have an iron crib and its gorgeous, sturdy, and nice... But my kids always cracked their heads on those bars when starting to sit/stand because they're less forgiving than the flat wood slats... So you may want to consider those vertical bumpers for that stage
The crib is pretty, but what about if the child starts teething on it? I hear about that all the time.
good tip. thanks!!!!!

I second this. DS is getting very mobile and pulls up all the time in his crib and has slipped and hit his head good a few times on his crib bars. Once even left a little bruise I felt so bad, but he is ok. So for sure look into something soft to put over those bars when the time comes!!

We are reusing DD's crib. It is a dark walnut wooden crib featuring some lovely teeth marks courtesy of DD.
She is still in it now, but will be evicted around December in time before her 2nd birthday where she will be getting a "big girl bed".

We have! We actually ordered our crib and dresser/changing station on Sunday! Dh's parents were in town and wanted to buy the crib for us while they were here, and I wasn't going to say no
It also helps that I had a 20% off coupon for Babies "R" Us that I needed to use by Thursday. We got the Adele collection from Babies "R" Us.

Stella Margaret arrived on December 21, 2013!
We are getting my daughter a twin bed and using our crib for the new baby. We have a Pali crib and its very nice and high quality.
The pewter crib is beautiful, but it would make me nervous. I would invest in some serious padding when they start teething because they will try to bite the metal.
We've been happy with the one DS has, but he will still be using it when new baby comes. So I'm going to buy another of the same crib, but in the cherry finish to match the woodwork in the new house. DS has ahoney oak color, but it doesn't clash too much. Nothing fancy, but I like the look.

My 2 December boys
I'm in the same boat - we're not having twins, but we live in a small 2 bedroom apartment that just feels sooo small once I start thinking about where to put all the baby's stuff. I keep telling myself that somehow people in tiny European apartments handle this, and we can too. We'll just have to minimize how much baby stuff we acquire.
We absolutely cannot give up our 2nd bedroom (our office) so we're putting baby's crib in our room. I'll actually probably side car it to our bed for easy nighttime feedings. I'm looking to pick one up used or else get a cheap one at Ikea.
My biggest concern is figuring out how to make room for the baby's clothes in our closet. It's already packed with our clothes! I'm going to have to do some serious wardrobe thinning before January...
I know what you mean, we've already bought 2 cribs a dresser and a changing table. I've never had a loss but I still feel crazy buying this early but we're having twins and really want to spread the purchases out because of all the extra stuff we'll have to buy.
