C.J. vent at 39 wks plus...

Had doc appt last week where she did (highly uncomfortable/slightly painful) membrane sweep to kick things into gear and get this little guy going even more downstream.
At the time I was only 2cm...after sweep I was 3. She thought I'd be delivering a few days from then.
To give him more incentive, I was super active over the weekend: climbing steep staircase at in-laws place to get to bathroom 3 times, eating tons of spicy food, going to the movies and getting frisky with DH. After all of that, never even had 1 contraction to write home about...
This morning after internal exam, I'm told I'm STILL 3cm!
Really Carson Jr. (C.J.) ??? LOL! I guess the more I do, the more comfy he gets in there so I give up.
Will be 40 weeks on Sunday and due on Monday, 6/24.
I should've known better than to buy into the whole '2nd babies come faster'. The 11yo was 5days late so I guess he's going for the same... :/

    Everything I have been seeing and hearing has pointed to second babies coming later. And yet I also bought into the idea that this baby would come sooner. The week and a half of false labor hasn't helped. And as of 11:39pm tonight, I'll be more pregnant than I ever was with DD1.

    Same here!  I've been more pregnant than I ever was with DD1 6 days ago.  UGH!

    Same here! STM and have blown past 38 w and 1 day that I was pregnant with DD 1 when my water broke at 38 w. Now I'm at 38 w and 4 days. I'm having some bh contractions and maybe a real one or two thrown in but in spite of shopping over an hour today, cleaning house and a lot of the other tricks lately, no progress during my last two checks. We will get there, though!!

    Yes...this is how I felt last weekend after 2 days of more than usual activity.
    We will get there for sure...just not on our time...lol!

    Same here. I am actually 5 days overdue now. Sigh. The longer I go the more fear I have that I won't have my VBAC.

    I have an accupuncture appt tomorrow. Crossing fingers.

    Same here.  Both of my girls were born at exactly 39 weeks, so I figured this one would make his appearance sometime this week.  He has two days if he wants to beat them, but no signs of anything (definite) yet and I'm measuring three to four weeks bigger than when I delivered my girls.  Oh well.  They can't stay in there forever, I guess.
