dd hitting us

dd now started to slap us when she gets mad or doesn't get her way. How are you correcting this if your lo does this? She has no.concept of time out, so sitting her on the couch isn't an option.

    I really think it depends on the kid.  For DS, if he hits, I immediately leave the room.  For him, that's a HUGE punishment.  He starts screaming and follows me.

    my son gets put in his room (there is a gate on his door) and i take his lovey out with me.

     i go back 1-3 min later and we talk about how we don't hit and then give him a hug.

    That is automatic time behind the gate for DD.  Then she gets to choose if she wants to give us a hug or say, 'sorry'.

    We do the things mentioned above, but the book "Hands are not for hitting" was the most helpful.
