Threw up first baby food

We got the ok from our ped to start baby food, so we tried sweet potatoes last night. LO ate about half of the container and then threw up the entire amount I had just given her. She was upset initially, but then calmed down after a few mins. There were no other signs of an allergic reaction and she seems fine today other than being a little cranky. She did also just get her 6 mo shots on Friday. She has eaten rice and oatmeal cereal and done just fine, no throwing up. Did I just feed her too much for the first time?

Not sure how old baby is, but with DS1's first foods we only gave a couple tsp of food.

Sounds like too much. You should start with just a tbsp or 2.

way too much. Throwing up isn't a sign of allergy, it's the sign of an over-full tummy.

When are you feeding them? We always feed either 30 minutes before DS's bottle or wait about 30 minutes after DS's bottle to feed him. Otherwise, he ends up spitting it back up because his tummy is too full.
