Veins in your arm hurting?

I've been dealing with varicose and spider veins on my legs for a while now, but last Thursday I had my glucose test so they drew blood (only 2 vials).  Now my arm hurts! It only looks a tiny bit bruised around the inner elbow, but definitely not bad compared to when I've given blood in the past.  It's just a dull pain that goes up my entire arm and seems to stem from that area.  I woke up several times last night with a sore arm.  Anyone else dealing with this?  Any secret remedies?

  • I had that last time I had blood drawn, but that's the only time it was while pg, so may be related?.

  • I have definitely seen more bruising than normal for me with my recent blood draws, which are every 2 weeks for me. No related pain though. Sounds like they didn't do a good job!
  • Thanks, all!  It doesn't look infected and the bruised area is so small.  I had been chalking it up to the fact that veins hurt during this time of pregnancy (it doesn't hurt any more than my legs, though I can wear compression stockings to help those).  So I wasn't planning on calling a doc, but I'll try both warm and cold compresses and see if that helps ease it.
