XP: from BFing - nursing necklaces worth it and recs?

XP: from BFing - nursing necklaces worth it and recs?

DD's little hand is constantly roaming while she nurses. She has grabbed the skin of my jaw so hard that it left marks (not to mention, ouch!).  I found some nice nursing necklaces online but was not sure if they were worth buying.  She needs something to hold onto and for the most part, I have to hold her hand but the second I let go, off that little arm goes in search of something, whether that's my face, hair, or phone! I am afraid buying a necklace would be a waste if she's not interested.  Thoughts and recommendations gratefully appreciated.

I've been toying with the idea of purchasing a nursing necklace too for the same reasons. DD likes to yank my hair all the time. I feel if I wear a nursing necklace she will be interested in playing with it or holding onto it instead of something I don't want her to have (my phone, my hair, etc.)

I found some really cute ones on etsy. I plan on buying one because I'm almost certain she will want to play with it. If not I can hold onto it for the next baby.

did you see the crocheted ones on Etsy? they look so pretty!

  • I've been thinking about this, too. The one time I wore a regular necklace while DD was nursing, though, she got so distracted by it that she stopped nursing to play with it. But, my daughter is a wild child when it comes to nursing.

  • Someone on the BFing board suggested giving her a lovey, like a little blanket with stuffed animal head as something she can hold onto so I will try this when I go home today.  I also have some bead necklaces that I don't use, can try them out with her first before I invest into an actual nursing necklace.  I had my eye on

and on the Etsy store, someone crocheted some bead necklaces that I think are quite interesting!
