DD is 6 months (corrected age 3 months) and she now HATES naps. Won't take them at school, home, grandmas house. No where. The ONLY thing that will get her to nap in the day is going in the car. And with that she has to be extremely tired and once you stop, forget it. She's up and at it again. She use to LOVE to nap. I mean she would sleep all the time. I use to think she was getting TOO much sleep. Now I wish she would nap again.
Normal day for her is up at 6am, at daycare from 7:30am to 4pm, home and then in bed between 7:30 and 8pm. Maybe put in a 20-30 min nap around 12:30pm. Is this normal? Is she going to be one of those kids who just never naps or is this just a phase?!?
Re: No naps?!?!
It may be a phase, but it doesn't change the fact that she should be napping. I personally would continue working toward naps, even if she's in a phase where she doesn't want to sleep or is catnapping (which is normal, especially at her adjusted age - she may not be mature enough yet to sleep in big chunks of time). Let's face it, this certainly will not be the last thing that she doesn't want to do, that you make her do anyway
I did a lot of reading about sleep but honestly the website Troublesome Tots basically sums up pretty much everything I've ever read in one handy website, and she has it organized by age & topic, so it's easy to get questions answered.
