I feel like I am the only person i personally know to use cloth diapers and make LOs food. I think I'm trying to overcompensate for not being able to breast feed, lol. I actually love it but I get some odd looks when others find out that I'm doing these things. On these boards, they seem like a common practice, but irl I don't know many who do this and feel quite alone. Anyone in the same boat? Is this pretty common with people you know?
Also, I have heard once you start feeding your baby table chunks that they will start getting picky and stop eating pured foods. Is there an age that babies stop pures altogether and use mostly solids?
Re: Cloth diapers and homemade foods
I cloth diaper and make my son's food, as did my mom 30 years ago. I don't think it's all that uncommon. It's just "trendy" nowadays, IMO.
I've heard the same about babies refusing puree after getting a taste of chunkier food (table food). My son isn't really interested in puree half of the time, so I offer a mix of stuff to try - but he still eats more of the puree than anything else. So I'll keep offering it until he has some teeth to chew table chunks!
If you dont want to use these as purees, you can always spread them on toast and use them aws dips for LO...
So far, my DD isn't very interested in picking up pieces of food I've tried. But she gobbles my pures right up. I keep making them chunkier and chunkier, so she gets accustomed to the textures.
me too, I had a c-sec, I cloth diaper (but started later when I finally had some time and patience) and I also make LO's food (except when we are on vaca and I buy the packets of organic baby food)
