Two due dates?

palm513palm513 member

So my LMD and my second ultrasound both put my due date as Oct 27. But my FIRST ultrasound put my due date at Nov 2. Both ultrasounds were done before 8 weeks, all of my appointments are being based off of the Oct 27 due date but my chart has Nov 2. Is it normal, for the doctor to keep the later due date even though he says the earlier one is probably more accurate?

  • They're probably going off the later one just in case? Sounds like a good decor, in all honesty!

I know it's just weird cause at every appointment he tells me oh your X amount of weeks and the number he says is always what I would be with the earlier one. I asked him about it and he was just talked in circles... although I did catch that something like a RCS would be scheduled by the date in my chart. which means I get an extra week for my body to go into labor.

So I guess it is a good thing? Although, if his policy is so strict on you can't go more than 42 weeks wouldn't it make more since to compromise? and make it like Oct 31st? I don't know it really doesn't bother me, I just really would like to be able to say I am 21 weeks not I am 20 - 21 weeks. Ya know?

  • I'd take a later date if I had the choice, and the benefit to you is you have it documented that Nov 2 is a reasonable date to go by for post date conversations, should they come up.
  • I ended up with two due dates and my CNM based everything off of the later one to give me more time to go into labor.  It's definitely better to go by the later one for a VBAC.

  • Take the later due date!  I ended up with LMP that said sept 20th and an ultrasound that said sept 23rd.  My midwife was going to leave it as the 20th, but I made her change it to the 23rd.  The later the better.  Your Dr. is probably stuck with a policy that says he has to induce or schedule a RCS at a certain date and is trying to give you an extra week.
