DD is a little over 8 months, and she'll get on her knees and rock, she rolls over fine, she's just not pulling up at all, and she is showing no interest in actually crawling or moving forward. She also isn't getting into the sitting position by herself, usually DH or I have to put here there, and she'll stay fine. she won't hold her bottle or a sippy cup either.
she's already said mama, she waves and says hi and bye bye, just seems like everything physical is either delayed or not around the same time as everyone else. she was evaluated a few months ago, and they didn't see any issues with her other than general tightness, but now I'm curious as to if she's just slower to move or there's really an issue. MIL noticed she wasn't really jumping much, and I've noticed she's not really a huge fan of bending her knees. she tends to just go straight and stiff when she's happy.
anyone else's LO just not moving or have simliar issues?
Re: not pulling up or getting in the sitting position
My LO doesn't pull up, crawl or move into a sitting position either. He can sit and roll just fine. He will also stand without support when he feels like it. He used to love to jump in his jumperoo but now he just hangs out. He held a straw cup by himself for the first time yesterday. I wouldn't be too worried. I think they do it in their own time.
DD is 7 months and is crawling and pulling herself up- she started at 6 months but that is very early. Her pedi said that since she is developing so fast in her gross motor skills that she probably won't talk for awhile. He said that sometimes one area just develops super fast and one takes a little longer, not a big deal at all! I can't wait for my LO to say mama and wave!! Enjoy it!!
I agree with PP. It will happen when baby is ready, and not before. I got so worried with DS1 because he wasn't crawling or even moving much at 8 months. Then all of a sudden he learned to crawl, pull-up and get into a sitting position within a 10 day span. It was like a lightbulb just went off.
As long as there is no physical reason for the "delay" (and really at 8 months, you're not delayed yet) just give it time. Some babies spend more time learning social and verbal skills first and then catch up with physical. It's NBD really. I promise she'll learn to move soon enough. Then you'll be wishing for the "easy" days of a baby that stayed put!
DD just turned 8 months today and she's not pulling up or going in a sitting position on her own either. I figure she'll do it when she's ready.
