So my sons favorite toy is was green stuffed elephant stroller toy, he loves to chew on it, I've had to put it in the washing machine a few times to keep it clean. I just went to target and bought a new one because his old one is getting ratty and i just noticed that the tag said to only wipe with a damp cloth and do not submerge in water. What would you do? Whould you still machine wash on occasion?
Re: Washing toys that say do not wash
I wash anything that isn't made of paper.
If it makes it through, then it was meant to be. If not, oh well. If a kid touches it, then it needs to be able to be machine washed or submerged in soapy water. DS1 has attached to a "lovey" stuffed mouse that says it's not machine washable, but it has been washed a few dozen times with no issues. Delicate cycle in a pillow case if you are really worried.
