Maternity Clothes Dilemma

Anyone else having issues finding maternity pants that fit?? I am so uncomfortable in my regular pants and belly band. I struggle to get most of them on at this point and having to bend over in them, not fun! I've tried on maternity pants in XS and they fit great in the belly but still way too big in the butt and frontal area. Guessing I should invest in regular pants a couple sizes up?? Definitely thinking ill be wearing ALOT of dresses this summer!

  • Dresses are a great option. Maternity pants are very difficult to size for me too.
  • I m living on motherhood leggings
  • Had this issue with places like gap and old navy, but a pea in the pod and motherhood pants fit just like normal pants for me but stretchier and with the band! Love them! :
  • I got a pair of Gap maternity pants in XS for work and they for great. I've been wearing a lot of maternity dresses though because they fit nice in the second and third tri.

  • I had a lot of issues finding suitable work pants but I finally found some. Prepregnancy I am a size 4 and I have no hips or butt. I always wear express brand editor style pants as they fit me great. I really like motherhood maternity flare work pants. They are around 30. They have the belly band built in and that helps keep them up. I started wearing them last Monday 18.5 weeks and they are great. I could not find any other pants even super expensive ones that looked right on me.

  • I am wearing mostly yoga pants. And then some clothes that a friend gave to me that are too big. I am a SAHM though so I don't have to get dressed up for work everyday so that makes the clothing thing easier.
  • I have a pair of maternity jeans from Old Navy that are horrible. It has a belly band on it (which is fine), but the jean part on the crotch comes up way too high and irritates my stomach. Also, the jean part is too low in the back, so I'm hiking them up all day because it feels like they're falling off!!! Yuck. I'm going nutso trying to wear them.

I'm glad you posted this! I wear the same type of work pants and since I am a teacher I don't have to worry about dressing up over the summer. You've given me a starting point Smile Thanks!

  • I just found some great ones on clearance at Target. Only 10! I'm sure you could check online too.
  • I would suggest visiting a consignment shop to check out their maternity selection. I have had a lot of success finding the 'perfect' pair of maternity pants that way. It

once I found the brand, then I went to the retail store that carried that brand ;)

  • This is my problem exactly. I have zero butt, and finding maternity jeans that fit is really difficult. I'm still relying heavily on my belly band, and I suppose I will just have to cut off the waistbands of some regular jeans, and sew jersey at the top. There's no way I'm spending crazy money on designer jeans that will only fit me for a few months.
  • I just got some cute skinny jeans at HM.. I know not all HM's have maternity, I had to go a little out of the way. But I like them, comfy and cute
  • H M sorry it autocorrected and took away the ""
  • Why is it deleting my ampersand???

  • I finally sucked it up and splurged on a pair of designer maternity jeans. They are AG brand - which were my favorite brand for my body before I was pregnant. Boy am I glad that I spent the $$$. They are SO comfortable, flattering, and fit like a glove. I plan to get another five months use out of them and they will definitely be my go-to jean!
