How was Father's Day weekend?

Good morning ladies! How was everyone's Father's Day and your weekend in general? I'd love to hear what you got (or did not get) for YH, and what was his reaction?

BTW, I think my GTKY Monday threads will go on hiatus for a while, as I'm out of ideas. But ANY of you are welcome to do GTKYs when you feel like it!

We had a fun yet busy weekend! Fri night I gave DH his present - his favorite beer - to kick off the Father's Day weekend. Sat I baked croissants (courtesy of Trader Joe's), then went to a cook out in the late afternoon. Sun we went over to our friends' for brunch. One of them gave us inflatable beachballs - and M was laughing/giggling so hard when DH & I played beachball at home. DH said that was the highlight of his weekend, seeing M laugh so much. M and I also gave DH our "art project" on Sunday morning ("message in a bottle" with M's handprint and foot print on a poem).

But can I just say a major "Ewwww" when we were over at our friends' for brunch? They recently got a 2nd kitten (a few months ago), and this was our first visit to their house since M was born, though we've had them over a few times already. I was hoping to put M down on the floor so he could crawl around while we chat, but their floor was covered with tufts of cat hair! Not to the degree of dust bunnies, but definitely plenty of cat hair flying around. I know they are very busy, but couldn't they just spend 15 minutes to sweep the floors before we arrive? They have a house cleaner who comes every 2 wks, and I suspect she's due to come this week. But still!!! It was so gross that I simply couldn't put M down. On top of that, the older of the 2 cats (2 years-old) was hissing at me! He's never done that before, so I was quite nervous the whole time that he would pounce on M.

We had a pretty good weekend. We got our leaky sunroom fixed on Saturday, so now we can use it. The on Sunday we had a family day. We were supposed to go to my parents, but McNugget has an ear infection and we wouldn't be able to go in the pool. So, the three of us did our own thing and had a great day. We even took McNugget to a shoe store for his first shoes, since he started walking this week. We found out that they don't really make walkers in his size, because he's so ittybitty. LOL

We had a mostly good weekend. The 3 shaped train cake turned out pretty cute. And MH loved the D A D photo collage. Unfortunately E and I both ended up really sick on Sunday. So she slept most of the day. We managed donuts for breakfast... Shame on me! And fajitas for an early dinner. Then off to bed early for everyone. She seemed to be in a much better mood this morning though. Um, until she bumped her head. Oopsie. I swear, she constantly has a bump on her head. The poor child has no fear and even less coordination!

We had a nice weekend. Husband's friends came down from Philly to visit him and he had a great time. They all love E, so it was some fun family time. Yesterday I went to see my dad but he wanted to just sit on the couch and watch tv. Since he does daddy daycare sometimes I thought he deserved it. He got to take a 2 hour uninterrupted nap lol.

We had a great weekend! Saturday we traveled out of state for my future SIL's bridal shower and the boys all hung out together. Sunday we had my ILs over for breakfast. My niece and nephew tired out DS so while he (and DH!) napped from 1-3, I went grocery shopping and prepped for DH's father's day dinner. We ended the night with a few cocktails on the patio. It was a great day!

Ours was pretty low key. A card, a photo of J eating the "I *heart* my daddy" sign framed for work.

DH grilled for the family. It was pretty low key because we are staying with my parents during other final push of our home renovation.

Saturday we had lunch with friends and went to a beer event. Both were fun!

Our weekend was ok. Friday night we babysat my two nieces overnight. I thought 3 kids under the age of 5 would be a disaster but it actually went amazingly well and with any luck the favor will be repaid when we have a wedding I. September.

saturday I had a baby shower so DH was on daddy duty all day. The adult time was fantastic, even though I really didn't know anyone there!

Fathers Day was a slight fiasco. Started off ok with some breakfast and I surprised DH with a new cologne. The he went out for a few beers with one of his friend. When he got back we got into a massive argument I'm not even sure what spawned it but it was ugly. We talked it out but I'm still bothered. I think he thought Father's Day meant he got the day off from parenting..... Which irked me....I did the bulk of diaper changes and as always feedings (since LO is on the boob)..... And I certainly don't recall getting the day "off" on Mothers Day.......anywho -ended it with some delish steaks on the grill....
