Hi all!
I am due in 4 weeks and have not solidified names yet!! The sex is a surprise. This is my first child and my husband has 3 others: 2 girls, Iesha and Josalice, and 1 son, Matthew. My husband's name is Jose and we are open to a similar name for a boy but we don't want a junior. My mother suggested Joseph Anthony, which we both really like but now I'm not sure. Is it too close to his daughter's name, Josalice? Additionally, it seems like everyone and their mother has named their kid Anthony in one form or another. Does anyone have any other suggestions? As for a girl, I really love Thierry (I want to pronounce it "theory") Noelle but he is not sold on it. I don't want any common names like Emily or Ashley and am not into the old fashioned name trend that's going on either (no Ava, Grace, Charlotte or things like that). Please help!!

Re: NAME FRENZY
First of all, Thierry is a french name for a man, and the name of a famous athlete. It's pronounced Tee-ehr-ee. Theory is not great, but for the love, don't give her a man's name.
Noelle is beautiful. Why not that for a first name?
And as for Joseph Anthony, Joseph, Josalice, and Jose are all kind of close. I'd probably go with something else. Anthony Joseph? Antonio?
I like Joseph Anthony. I don't think it's too close to Josalice. You could do Andrew instead of Anthony, or Andre.
I don't like Thierry, esp for a girl, and I guarantee you no one will pronounce it correctly. Other options could be Arabella, Brynn, Cecile, Desiree, Emmeline, Francesca, Genevieve, Eleni, Ione, Jocelyn, Lorelei, Ophelia, Pauline, Tabitha, Ursula
Boys- Joel, Raul, Ruben, Jack, Tomas, Julian, Mitchell, Mario

My mom came up with "Thierry" from a show she's been watching called "Vikings". One of the female characters has a name pronounced "theory" but she spells it "Thyri". I was trying to come up with alternative spellings of that because I don't like how that is spelled. I realize now that Thierry is totally different and wouldn't work. When I look up Thyri I have found that it is an old Swedish or Norweigan female name.
what about Carys?
carys
What about Terry? It could also be a NN for Theresa/Teresa.
I think Joseph is too close to Josalice only if you call Josalice by the NN Jo, which might get confusing. Otherwise, I think it's fine.
