What is your LO eating??

Charlotte still nurses 5-6 times a day but she seems to be over pureed food. I've given her bits and pieces of our food the past week but I'd like some more ideas for her. Any tips?? :)

Re: What is your LO eating??

  • DD gets oatmeal and fruit for breakfast.  She'll get puffs for snack.  At lunch, I'll give her bits of whatever I'm eating in addition to a puree if I'm home.  At dinner, she gets bits of our food plus a puree.  The purees are just more balanced than what I've been cooking... Bad me!

  • Greek yougurt is a big hit in our house, and so is hummus.  DD loves hard cheese and cheerios and puffs.  They make teething crackers that dissolve in your baby's mouth, and DD loves those, too. I think she just digs being able to feed herself.  Also, avocado, rice, meats and veggies that are cut up very small and cooked until soft. Oh and apples.  DD loves apples. I cannot eat one in peace.  She will yell at me until I let her lick my apple. I buy her organic apple sauce now and she seems to be alright with that.

  • For finger foods, we do toast a lot.  I'll spread avocado on it or yogurt, or some of her purees.  She's had ground turkey, shredded cheese, cut up pieces of deli chicken breast, cut up steamed carrots, etc.

  • Breakfast is usually yogurt, some fruit, and oatmeal.

For snacks she'll have puffs or bits of fruit or a mum mum.

Lunch is usually touch and go...I don't normally eat lunch myself so it's hard for me to remember to give it to her. I usually do after nap #2. She eats a whole grain pancake or a piece of toast with a little jam.

Dinner for her is usually whatever we're eating. She loves whole wheat spaghetti with olive oil and parmasean, hot dogs, soup, grilled cheese. The kid loves to eat.

  • Emery started refusing purees about a month ago.  We had already incorperated a lot of baby led weaning practices but now he gets 100% people food.

I give him whatever we are eating for dinner.  Cut in small bits or mashed and fed by dh or me with a spoon.

His favorite whole food snacks are grapes, peeled and cut up.  Manderin oranges and banana slices, halved.  Strawberries cut into slices.  The peas out of sugar snap peas.

He loves beef, chicken, rice, bread... everything really.

Just start slowly and before you know it you'll be in the groove.

  • Yesterday DS was all smiles when he had Mac and cheese, sauteed tofu cubes, peas, and cooked carrot cubes. Not a bite dropped!
  • 32 oz formula per day and mostly pureed foods. We've recently started giving him pieces of our food - chicken nuggets, watermelon, bagels, jellied toast, and pancakes.

  • Now I mostly just cut up whatever we are having. LO has even had Indian, sushi, etc. The only thing we avoid is honey.

I do keep some food packets on-hand in case we skip a meal, end up eating after his bedtime, or I don't have something to send to daycare.

Today for daycare: Breakfast was homemade: chopped up strawberry and blueberry, coconut milk, and amaranth grain. Lunch was a Happy Baby meal pouch.

Yogurt and cheerios for breakfast.  Maybe some diced up blueberries or other fruit.

Lunch is shredded chicken, turkey meatballs, tortellini, etc. and some cubed veggies.  Occassionally, I'll send a puree to daycare instead of the whole veggie.

Dinner is usually some version of our dinner from the night before since we eat after he goes to bed.

His favorite things are yogurt, shredded cheese, brocoli and cheerios though.  He might throw everything else on the floor but will always eat those things!

  • In addition to what was already mentioned Skyler likes egg yolk omelettes. We'll mix in stuff like cheese and kale and she gobbles them up
  • The easier question is what ISN'T he eating.  lol..

    For breakfast he's had:
Pancakes, Waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuit, yogurt, strawberries,

    Regular meals:
Rice, mashed potatoes, mac n cheese, pasta, broccoli, ground beef, chicken, french fries, fish, sweet potato, beans, squash,

Everything gets either cut up for him or mostly mashed.  The boy has no teeth and he eats like a pro.

  • He eats pretty much whatever we eat. For breakfast he has either toast or cheerios and a banana, lunch is usually apple sauce, turkey cut up or mac & cheese, and supper is what we have, he loves potaotes. They are his favorite. We aren't giving any baby food any more. He also loves watermelon.

  • Breakfast: scrambled eggs, grits, pancakes [tiny squares], french toast, oatmeal, fruit

Lunch: shredded lunch meats, bite size meats, noodles, veggies, fruit, hot dogs [either quartered our halved]

    Dinner: what we're eating
    Snacks: crackers, cereal

He's been eating all table food for a few months now. It's so convenient. We don't change for spiciness. We just have milk on hand.

  • He eats whatever we eat. Yesterday he had scrambled eggs, a sausage patty, fruit, cheese ravioli, tomato and cucumber [chopped], shredded steak, mashed potatoes, and green beans. And a few bites of peach cobbler...

  • oatmeal or rice cereal, bananas, avocado, sweet potato, carrots, peas, green beans, chicken, salmon, greek yogurt, kidney beans, lima beans, cherries, black beans, grapes, tilapia, tater tots (Embarrassed), potatoes, pasta, applesauce, peaches...those I've all given in chunks.

MumMums, puffs, arrowroot cookies...IDK...I do know I'm running out of ideas.

We're running through our stash of purees and I doubt I'll buy more. I'll probably just keep pouches on hand for emergencies.

ETA: pancakes and Colby Jack cheese, too!

  • He's still eating mainly purees, but we're trying to transition from that.

For breakfast, if he doesn't get purees, I'll give him a Chobani yogurt or two waffles. For lunch, I'll give him some sort of steamed vegetable with some meat shredded (usually chicken or turkey). For snacks, he usually gets granola bars or a handful of cereal.

  • He eats oatmeal, usually with a fruit puree, in the morning.  If we eat something other than cereal in the morning, he'll eat whatever we're having (eggs, toast, muffin).  For lunch he usually shares a sandwich with one of us.  He loves PB&J.  He also has a banana or fruit/vegetable puree.  For supper he eats whatever we're eating (chicken, fish, pasta, potatoes, vegetables, etc. His favorite foods are jellied cranberries, pieces of strawberries, cheese, yogurt, green beans, and peas,

We still use purees, but LO eats bananas, bagels and cheerios for breakfast sometimes.  He has also had chicken, ground turkey, turkey tacos, broccoli, baked beans, mashed potatoes, french fries, kiwi.  I have been trying to give him some of our food if I think it will work.
