Sippy cup soaker

Miss C has quite a few sippies, but she prefers the Nuby cup. It's the easiest for her to handle and she gets a lot of water out of it. A lot. Her shirt is constantly soaked. I know it's fine for summer because it's hot here, but this isn't going to work past summer. Are we doing something wrong?

    My kid does it on purpose. She fills her mouth then spits it out, all over her shirt

    I think the first problem is she drinks it upside down and gets mad if I turn it around. Other than that, I'm at a loss.
