I read the books, except for this last one, and I was a fan of the show. I did watch last night, but I just wasn't as excited for it to begin as I use to be. I think the books started to get silly with so much fairy stuff and the show started irritating me because they never kill anyone off.
I'm annoyed at how far from the books they've gone. I know they wanted it to be a little different, but its not ok. Last night I did notice a few things that were actually in the book though. I loved the books and I enjoyed the last one, it actually ended almost exactly like I expected it to.
I like the fairy stuff too. I do have a few friends that don't, so I see where you're coming from.
I was annoyed about them changing it from the books too! I think that's what turned me off from it last season. I did not like the whole Lilith/Bill thing. I wish they had kept Bill how he was in the books. I really liked reading everything from Sookie's POV so I found the other story lines to be boring in the show (like Andy or Terry). Don't get me wrong, I love fairies. I think I was just caught off guard by how much ended up being in what I thought was a vampire series. I'll admit, it's been awhile since I read the books so I can't remember exactly what I disliked about it. I just remember being disappointed about Sookie and Eric not lasting. Maybe that's why I didn't like it haha. I'm not surprised by how the series ended either because of all of the things Sookie wanted in life, she couldn't have with a vampire.
