Organization tips please..

I've decided to challenge myself while the kids are away and do some badly needed purging and organizing. We have a walk in closet that you can't even get one step into..it's sad.
I'm a bit overwhelmed and not even sure where to begin. Clothes I suppose, we have shelves lining the top of our closet and it's stuffed to the gills with clothes. We have shoes lining the walls but you cant get to them. I even have my husbands Cello in here..wtf!? Closets are going to be my downfall because my house is really really clean...until you open a closet. It's like a pandoras box of hoarding shame.

If you have any suggestions on how to even start this process please share. Right now my plan is to just gut my closet and go from there. I feel I may have bitten off more than I can chew.

Yeah clothing is where I need to start. I keep looking on pinterest for ideas but everything is essentially saying the same thing. Take it all out and evaluate first...le sigh Confused

I also try and go by the 1 year rule. I use a lot of under the bed storage totes for things like gift wrap, photos and Dagnys clothes she's outgrown. You can buy over the door shoe racks or ones that sit on the floor depending on your space.

I just dove into it, emptied everything out onto my floor, sort of just now came up for air. I feel I will be camping out in my bedroom for at least 24 hours..ugh. Good news is Goodwill is going to LOOOVE me!

I've really been decluttering recently and my biggest motivator has been money. I've been selling my crap on a Facebook resell site and have been earning at least 100 to 200 bucks per week. Money always motivates lol. Mike jokes that he better not sit too still or I will sell him too ;p

Wow this sounds nice! Is it a local site? I have tons of baby stuff I need to get rid of, but craigslist intimidates me.

Im going to bring some stuff in to OUAC, I found two flower girl dresses that my daughter wore one time! Maybe I can make some spare change while im at it!

It's a local site. We all post our items for sale w price and description and all meet at a local church on Thursday to exchange. You have to know someone in the group to get in. The idea is genius IMO

And RC, do anyone but goodwill! They are not really a not for profit. Dirty
