Re: Pregnancy Check In
Good Morning Everyone! Not much new to update here, we have our A/S coming up July 2nd which we are looking forward to. Other than that we are just enjoying the pregnancy right now and feeling little kicks from baby throughout the day. I did finally give in and order some maternity clothes online... I haven't been too thrilled with the in store options so hopefully some of these online clothes fit.
QOTD: We are headed up to Minnesota next week to visit my family and stay in a cabin. It is an annual thing that we do and we are both ready for some time to relax!
Baby Oliver born 11/27/13
TTC stats with donor sperm...
IUI #1 with trigger, 1/4/13 - BFN
IUI #2 with trigger, 2/1/13 BFN
IUI #3 with tigger, 2/28/12 BFP EDD 11/21/13
This past week has been both productive and a good pregnancy week. We started setting up tours with day cares and visited one last week. I also started prenatal yoga classes, which I can already tell will be a great preparation for childbirth. AND, I interviewed for a big promotion, which will help pay for said day cares, so FX! As far as the pregnancy, we have definitely noticed significant growth to my bump, which has been comforting after not seeing a lot of growth in the past 2-3 weeks. Shock of the week - faint appearance of linea nigra! Plus, I'm LOVING the return of energy after a very sluggish first trimester.
QOTD: We'll be local this summer since I'm conserving leave for maternity leave. Lots to do in the ATX area, so we'll still have some summer fun!
I'm really looking forward to this little man making an appearance soon. V and I are both taking 12 weeks of fmla leave together. I can't wait for our little family to bond and get to know each other.
I'm feeling quite tired, and whereas I've always loved walking, I've slowed down lot. We went to pride yesterday, thinking it would be good to do some walking, and it was funny that it took us at least double the usual time to walk around the stands.
Baby has slowed down too, he's running out of room in there. Today is my first internal check since our 12 week appointment. I've asked them not to tell me how dilated/effaced I am since it's not a reliable indicator of progression...there is a small part of me that wants to know though!
I'm just hanging out and waiting. These boys could make their apperance any day now and I'd be fine with that. If we get to 38 weeks then we'll start discussing induction but until then I just wait.
QOTD - maternity leave! That is my summer plan :-) At some point we'll take the boys to meet family in another state but other than that we'll just be hanging out.
My new job has severely limited my ability to get away, BUT, we are going to FL for the 4th if July weekend and I'll just work on Friday from the beach :. Back on Sunday night. A good alternative to a real vacation. I actually must find a maternity swimsuit since I'm hoping to quickly also find a maternity swimming class.
Things are going well. 32 weeks tomorrow! My dad's in town helping with some things around the house, which is very nice. We have a midwifery appt and our 4th birth prep class tomorrow.
QOTD: The main interesting/fun planned this year is having a baby in August. Before that, we have our 8th anniversary, a baby shower, my nana coming to visit, and my board exam on the 29th of July. August will be all baby prep, birth and new postpartum depending on when this little one wants to make their arrival.
We had our first midwife appointment on Thursday and it went well. I have an ultrasound tomorrow just to check on Tater, and they are supposed to be scheduling my Mat21 test for sometime in the next week or so.
QOTD: My father owns a lake house in Maine that we can use when we want. I am going up for a quick overnight visit next weekend with a friend, and then again for 4th of July weekend with my family my wife unfortunately works on Sundays so she can't go. My wife and I are going up together for a week in August. That's about it for travel for us as we're trying to save money, but we have some local stuff planned a cookout at our house, maybe some kayaking.

I am so excited for camping! My wife my kids and I go camping about every other weekend in the summer starting with the last day of school. Course I have to pass the cooking over the campfire on to the kids now. Also wondering how pregnant and sleeping on a cot is going to work out...
Kinda mad at my cats... One of them threw up on my bed... Can't they puke on the kitchen floor or somewhere easier to clean? Ugh! Gross!
So overall things are well. I can't wait to feel stronger kicks! Btw the wife heard that if you poke the baby it will kick... So she gently poked me in the belly and I was getting ready to yell at her and sure enough I felt something!
Separately, I'm thinking about going with a home birth midwife so that is weighing on me too.
Q: headed to Cali this week from DC! Happy to hang with my Cali hippie kin for 2 weeks, and tell my parents about the pregnancy in person
