I need a plan exercise

I am new to this board but I am hoping for some ideas. I have a 3 yr old and a 6 week old. Before kids i was an avid walker walked to work everyday abd would take evening walks everynight. With my first pregnancy I lost all but 5 lbs before returning to work then gained about 5 lb because I could no longer fit in walking to work or in the evening thanks to my husbands work schedule.
With this pregnancy I still have 15lbs to lose plus the 10 from before. I am on mat leave for a year i would love to lose between 2025 lb over the next yearsooner would be nice. I know my problem is I don't move enough my 3 yr old wont go in the stroller for long and I spend a lot of time sitting and bf ing.
Any strategies /suggestions for exercising with 2? I don't go to the gym but I do have a treadmill. Also I have issues with milk supply so I need to consider that.

Thanks

  • Will your three year old ride in any toys? When we walk to the park, he rides his tricycle. I have a treadmill and plan my runs around plans for the week and hair washing. I try not to wash my hair more than 3 times a week. I bought a fitbit and it helps me track steps. I'll water plants with the water wring can rather than the hose so I can walk back and forth and get steps and some weights as the can gets heavy. Can anyone watch the older one so you can walk with the stroller?

  • I was thinking I might be able to do the treadmill after the older one goes to sleep or in the morning before she gets up. I can probably fit in a bit of weights as well.
I might be able to talk her into sitting in the stroller if we are going to the park but that isn't much of a walk.... Maybe she will get use to it over time?

  • I do the the treadmill with DS in the basement. I put on a Thomas, let him play with his toys, and get in a few 35 minute workouts a week. He's pretty good about it.

Gold's gym and their free childcare was a lifesaver for me! My kids loved the kids care area and it gave me an hour (or two when they got older) to myself. For $20 a month, it was well worth the money. I strongly suggest a gym membership, it really makes it so much easier to work out with kids. The social aspect for me was really nice as well
  • If you have any dumbells, start lifting them!  You can do arms, squats, deadlifts, and ab work while the older one plays near by and the baby is sleeping.   Definitely try to get the baby in the stroller to walk- walking is great for you!  Just add strength training now if you can!
