Hi mommys,
It looks like I might have been blessed with chloasma, aka mask of pregnancy. I'm already noticing some darkening on the skin above my lip and darker spots on my face. Not sexy.
Aside from avoiding the sun and wearing sun screen, any advise on how to prevent/minimize the darkening?
Re: Mask of pregnancy
I have melasma, which is similar, but not pg related, but darkening pigment spots on my face, and strangely, symmetrical, so I've got one spot outside/below each eye, and on the forehead, too. They get darker in the summer, with sun exposure, but I've learned to live with them, and rarely cover them.
The sunscreen can help with prevention, and is obv. a good idea on the face always, but as for minimizing, if you have access to a department store with makeup counters, or a Sephora, I'd suggest stopping by for a makeup consult. You never have to buy anything, but they can give you great tips for your own skin and coloring and make more specific recos.
I personally love the Bobbi Brown Corrector. It also does wonders for under eye darkness, makes you look instantly more awake (will come in handy after these babes are here!)
Good luck!
